Rise of the Tomb Raider launches on the PlayStation 4 next month with a bevy of bonus material – including PlayStation VR support in a brand new chapter. And, after last year's disappointing launch, Square Enix is now fighting hard to revive some interest in the release. This trailer has been prepared to coincide with the Tokyo Game Show, and while Japan isn't exactly the biggest market for Ms. Croft's exploits, the Uncharted games always do well in Asia, so it's got a shot at some respectable numbers in the East at least.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was one of my favourite games of last year. Its different from Uncharted and builds on elements they introduced on the reboot. As a result, it has more depth with more RPG elements as well as other ways to play. It has a survival mode where food for example is important. It has time attack modes - complete a Tomb in a certain time with modifiers that can increase your 'score' as they add increased difficulty. PS4 will be getting co-op survival too...
This seems to be a much more complete package of one of the best games of 2015 and confirmed to have a 'variety' of PS4 enhanced modes - including a 1080p high visual 30fps mode (great for those on 1080p TV's), a 4k/30 mode and a 1080p unlocked frame rate option too...
It might not be 'native' 4k but it does compare very well to the 4k native PC version...
Meh, no interest in this game now. Too many other better games to play.
I thoroughly enjoyed the reboot and I've been very patient waiting to sample the 2nd. I'd have been happy to just play the game as is but having all of the added extras is fantastic. I'm especially looking forward to the VR element with regards to the inclusive content. How I'm going to fit all of the upcoming titles in is anyone's guess (my guess is I'm not, single dad of two who I devote all my time to). This game looks to be a great buy and value for money.
If they decided to bundle this game w/ Pro I might be persuaded to get a Pro as this game seems to realize not everyone has a 4k tv. I'm sure I could pick up U4 for $30 this holiday.
This comes out a week before my Birthday, so I know what I'll be asking for
@rjejr agreed! this would make a great bundle
I'll be getting this for the vr mission. Also it's nice that crystal dynamics give gamer the option to choose graphics setting on ps4 pro, I hope more games get option like this.
So here i the thing I waited a year for the release of this game because of the exclusive deal. Fairplay as the game would not have been made otherwise. But now I will wait and buy this in 2017. I waited this long might as well buy it when it drops down to half price in the sales next year. I sure Square Enix will understand that its ok to wait a year for my money.
Say what you want, still want this to fail on PS4 alongside Xbox One and PC.
@DaveIsAnAceGamer ts pass the failing point now and honestly TR is to big of a franchise to fail. To want it to fail is like wanting CoD or Zelda to fail, it just wont. Besides they made up for their exclusivity by giving PS4 owners all the DLC and such.
@Flender
There may well be many other games to play this year but there aren't 'too many better games,' this one is easily upper echelon this gen. Aside from Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4, there aren't any others coming out around the same time that will be as good.
