Blade runner

Here's one that will date our readers: Sony's registered a trademark for G-Police in Europe. For those of you under the age of 28, this was a really popular sci-fi flight sim which released for the PSone all the way back in 1997 to rave reviews and some relatively strong sales numbers. A sequel released a few years later but never caught on in quite the same way.

As a result, the game never got a third entry, but the platform holder may be looking to revive the brand. As mentioned, Gematsu spotted a trademark registration for the title in Europe, suggesting that the old Psygnosis brand could be on the cusp of a comeback. This could be any number of things, ranging from a virtual reality release all the way through to a PSone Classic for the PlayStation 4.

The manufacturer's definitely starting to dig into its archives these days, though. Shadow of the Beast just released this week, and there are rumours that The Sentinel may be on the verge of a comeback as well. Now all we need is Destruction Derby and Colony Wars and we'll be good to go. We'll keep an eye on the G-Police scenario and see what happens.
