It's been a long, long time coming, but BigFest has finally ditched its pre-show jitters and is ready to take to the PlayStation Vita stage this week. The game – which was officially announced an eternity ago – is a Theme Park-esque management simulation, in which you must plan and promote music festivals in order to become the Simon Cowell of the outdoor gigging world.
Placing port-a-potties and picking the right bands will prove pivotal in your pursuit of the perfect crew cut, and the game will allow you to browse a growing catalogue of real unsigned artists to pull into the game. You'll need to make sure that you're selecting the right songs, though – country and western just ain't going to cut it if your crowd is gripped by a mid-life crisis.
While we're happy to see the game finally ready, it's clear that there have been some challenges getting to this point. Indeed, the release was revealed for the PlayStation 4 a while back, but it sounds like it's back to being a handheld exclusive again. Not that that's a problem, of course – this is the type of title that will excel on-the-go.

Nice, I guess? Talk about niche, but where is Dariusburst?
Civ Rev 2 Plus comes out on Dec 3rd I believe.
YES! I love sim games and am excited to try this out!
Been keeping an eye on Bigfest but have a feeling it may have turned out Borefest. Metacritic is still showing that the game has been cancelled so can't quite tell yet!
The PSblog is full of people up in arms that it's no longer F2P and now it'll cost them an outrageous £8 for a PSVITA exclusive. Idiots...
@hi_drnick You should see them when the Plus lineups are put out every month. It's quite something.
If I had a vita would definatly get this game looks like fun but sadly I do not
@hi_drnick I imagine these are the same people that complain Sony's not supporting the Vita, right?
@get2sammyb yeah, pretty much. I don't typically waste my time posting on that blog but I couldn't help myself this time and commented "What a bunch of miserable contrarians. Some common refrains you’ll see in these comments: We want VITA exclusives (or more commonly we want VITA games); We don’t want smartphone ports; We hate IAP (which all F2P games have).
Now all of a sudden there is an original, interesting PSVITA exclusive for 8 measly pounds and all people can do is complain?"
Not surprising to see some sites moving away from comments sections.
Seems like a novel idea
Actually happy they ditched the f2p model and honestly eight quid for what could be a great little sim is nothing.
