pes 2016 update.jpg

Back when we reviewed PES 2016 in September, we said that it was an excellent football game - its only real weaknesses being its unlicensed teams and the fact that its roster was based on last season's squads. For example, that money-grabbing Sterling was still disgracing Liverpool's teamsheet.

A roster update, titled Data Pack #2, was supposed to be released back in October, before being delayed plenty of times. Now, it's coming to consoles on the 3rd December, updating the squads in offline modes as well as adding a few extras: 51 new likenesses that weren't previously in the game, such as Jamie Vardy, Kevin de Bruyne, and Fernando Torres, are being added, with more to come in future updates. The legendary Maracana stadium is also being added to the game, with its own special pre-match cutscene that you'll undoubtedly skip through after seeing it a couple of times. Lastly, some balls, boots, and kits have been thrown into the mix, too.

In case you didn't already know, Konami is compensating PES players by offering all future Euro 2016 content for free, which should launch early next year. The content hasn't been announced yet, but expect to have some fresh stadiums, pre-match graphics, and maybe some new national teams.

Have you stuck with PES 2016 despite the updates being delayed? Is this promised content enough to make up for all the hassle? Misplace a pass in the comments below.
