Cool. I hope it comes to Europe. There are some great bargains every week. I got F1 2012 in May for €5.
Think I'll pick up Papa & Yo for the aesthetic and Legend of Dragoon just b/c I'm always complaining it needs a remake. An dI Want my kid sot play it, just for the battle cut scenes when the characters yell, which I believe is the direct basis for the battles in Rainbow Moon which we really liked. I really wish I still owned the PS1 discs.
I do think this is a good time to mention that Sony is still behind the times of every smart device, the 3DS and Wii U in that you will not be able to purchase any of these games with a credit card unless you spend $5. Which is inexcusable at this point. Forturnaley for them I have $4.01 left from a free $5 credit from my Sony credit card or I wouldn't be buying a single one off these.
@rjejr Yeah, that is a bummer, especially where sales like this are concerned. I spend a lot on PSN so it doesn't really bother me too much, as I know the credit's going to get used, but I do agree that they need to fix that.
I'm thinking of trying the Dino Crisis games and maybe try ToeJam & Earl since I already have the other games I'd want.
Even though I have Urban Trial Freestyle downloaded on my 3DS, I decided to re-buy it for the trophies.
Guess I'll get Worms since I have everything else
Nothing really jumps out at me and I have tons to play right now. How good is Wild Arms?
Thomas was alone, is it worth a play through? I may grab it for my vita
Man wish the UK had these type of sales and the extra range of games. Lucky Americans
@HeroOfCybertron
I really liked the Dino Crisis games back in the day. Not sure if they've held up over the yrs., but for .99 it's worth a shot.
For $5, I grabbed 5 games. Been meaning to grab Thomas Was Alone and DD Neon, as well as Harvest Moon and the Dino Crisis games.
@ztpayne7 Pretty great, actually. They don't do much that others didn't do, but it does everything pretty well, and I thought its battle system was neat. Oh, and the split stories between 3 main characters was a nice touch, too, at least in the first (forget if the second did that, too, since I played the second years before I played the first)
A very good list of games. I still have the intro of Wild Arms stuck in my head, even after buying the original day 1.
@get2sammyb there is a transaction fee to process a credit card. This is usually $0.50 to $1. If Sony were to allow adding $1 via credit card they could end up paying that whole $1 in the transaction fee. Some companies may be willing to eat that cost, some won't. Its concievable, though unlikely, that you could add hundreds of dollars to your account one by one and Sony would end up breaking even in fees!
If a company wants to eat that cost, more power to them, but there is nothing wrong with requiring you to spend a minimum.
@thedevilsjester - If there were a $1 or 50c transaction fee on every 99c game purchase on smartphone and tablets then nobody would ever make a single penny. Even Apple's 30% cut wouldn't exist b/c all the money would be going towards the fees. And all those Facebook games that let you buy things for $1. Do you really think every penny goes straight to fees? Nobody would ever make any money if that were the case. And Sony has it's own string of credit cars - I have a SonyCard and there's also a Playstation card - so they should at least let you use those.
Last gen I get it, companies were still working w/ points and cards in stores, but 99c apps have been really big for years now, Sony really has no excuse at this point. If they need a minimum I'm ok w 99c, let people buy 2 50c avatars if they really need them.
@get2sammyb - "as I know the credit's going to get used,"
I still have 200 points on my Wii account. It did transfer over to my Wii U last year when I made the jump, but it doesn't transfer over to the Wii U eShop, it's still tied to the Wiiware system, so I am never ever going to use those 200 points and Chick, Chick Boom actually cost me $10 on Wiiware, not the $8 that I paid for it. Though I suspect you spend a WHOLE lot more money than I do. I know $5 isn't a lot, but it seems like a high threshold in the reality of a huge 99c sale like this. I wonder what the Steam minimum is? I know I buy stuff from the $1.00 Humble Bundles but they aren't on Steam anymore, they have their own website. But I did pay $2 last time I bought something, I can only be so cheap.

@rjejr the SonyCard and PlayStation card are just Visas with a Sony logo, they still get charged the transaction fee from Visa. I don't know how the app stores get away with it but I know for certain that there are transaction fees for credit cards and they are just getting bigger. When I got my first credit card 15 years ago, it was something like $0.30 + 1% and almost every store back then had a $1 minimum CC purchase and gas stations had a separate price for CC users. Many stores today still have minimums but many eat the cost. Again I'm not sure how the app stores work in this scenario but the fees are there and always have a minimum fee no matter the purchase price.
@thedevilsjester
My guess is the companies are just willing to eat the cost, assuming most people will end up spending more than that anyway, which they usually do. I remember hearing the reason most apps or in-app purchases are never under 99¢ is the transaction fee.
Amazon created their own currency, "Amazon coins" , which allows them to work around that issue with transaction fees though, since they're prepaid.
@rjejr
The Humble Bundle could be exempt from that due to being a charity, maybe they get the fees waved because of it. I don't know if that would count as a '"charitable deduction" for a company, but I wouldn't be surprised if they can spin that as a "donation". That or they just assume (or hope) people will spend more.
I'm not sure, but I think Steam also has a $5 minimum.
@Zombie_Barioth - "I'm not sure, but I think Steam also has a $5 minimum."
Iif Steam has a $5 minimum then Sony has little incentive to change.
Thanks for commenting, I completly forgot and need to go buy games now.
If I didn't already have it, I'd have bought TM: Black, awesome game.
@linkster55

@SunnyShores Thanks for the recommendation. Just bought it now
