Kill 'em, Kellan

Sony wants to see the year out in style – and it’s not adhering to the desperate pleas of parents in order to do so. As hinted at late last month, the hardware manufacturer will be opening the gates to Killzone: Shadow Fall’s multiplayer mode this festive season, and anyone with a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Plus subscription is invited.

“Through this promotion, PS4 owners who don’t yet own the game can easily try the title’s acclaimed multiplayer mode, and experience first-hand the excitement that thousands of videos and livestreams have already spread via the platform′s powerful share functionality,” said Guerrilla Games’ Steven Ter Heide on the PlayStation Blog.

You can pre-load the file now, so that you’re ready to play when the trial period begins on 28th December. Throughout the initiative, you’ll have full access to all of the competitive component’s maps, classes, and weapons, though your entry will be revoked on 31st December. We’re assuming that the platform holder’s hoping to hook people during that window.

Despite the game launching over a month ago now, there’s still plenty to look forward to in the first-person shooter. “A new update is about to go live that addresses many oft-requested features, including the addition of voice chat,” continued Ter Heide. “Moreover, all additional maps will be made available for free to ensure that the community grows without fragmenting.”
