Sony has announced a double-bill of State of Play presentations, giving PS5 players updates on a wide range of games before focusing in on Japanese titles. It's all happening very soon, so let's go over the details in this guide. We'll tell you when is PlayStation's State of Play for September 2026 and everything else you'll need to know.

When Is PlayStation's State of Play Livestream?
The next State of Play livestream takes place on Thursday, 3rd September 2026 at the following times worldwide:
- North America: 6am PDT / 7am MDT / 8am CDT / 9am EDT
- UK/Ire: 2pm BST
- Europe: 3pm CEST / 4pm EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 10pm JST / 9pm AWST / 11pm AEST
State of Play Japan, a second presentation, begins immediately after the main State of Play. If you want to watch both, they will play one after the other with no break.
Where Can You Watch PlayStation's State of Play Livestream?
As usual, you can watch PlayStation's official livestreams of the State of Play double-bill on its YouTube and Twitch channels.
We will also host the broadcast right here on Push Square, where we'll detail what's happening in a live feed and you can chat live with other viewers. Join us, it'll be fun!
If you aren't watching the showcase live, don't worry — we'll of course have all the news up on Push Square as soon as possible to get you up to speed.
How Long Will PlayStation's State of Play Livestream Be?
Sony has not revealed a runtime for this State of Play and State of Play Japan.
State of Play presentations vary in duration, but I would guess the two showcases combined may amount to 90 minutes or so. I think it would be wise to allow for at least an hour if you plan to watch both.
If an official runtime is announced beforehand, I'll add it here.
What Games Will Be Part of PlayStation's State of Play Livestream?
Sony has only named one game that will definitely be in the State of Play this time: Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which it says will conclude the first of the two presentations with an "extended look" at the RPG.
Anything else is a guess at this stage.
State of Play Japan narrows its focus onto games coming from Japan and Asia in general, so that makes it slightly easier to predict; for example, Japanese publishers like Capcom, Square Enix, or Koei Tecmo are likely to be present.
As for the main State of Play, word on the street is that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will get a sort of re-reveal here, though that's just rumour right now.
In terms of PS Studios, I think a launch trailer for Marvel's Wolverine would make sense, seeing as that releases imminently. I wouldn't be surprised to see the next DLC character announced for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, either.
