Hogwarts Legacy

The first few months of the year are usually a little quieter on the new games front, but there's plenty to get stuck into over January and February this time around.

In this guide, you'll find our usual roundup of highlights hand-picked by us, as well as a larger selection of physical games that'll be available throughout the next couple of months. Remember that PSVR2 also launches next month – all the details you need can be found below.

Forspoken - 24th January

In January, we'll be following the journey of New Yorker Frey, who finds herself transported to the magical land of Athia in Forspoken.

The game is an action RPG that'll have you using magical abilities to traverse sprawling landscapes, battle monstrous creatures and defeat powerful matriarchs. It's said to have been designed to "harness the full power of the PlayStation 5's hardware" and has a score composed by none other than God of War composer Bear McCreary. One to keep an eye on, then.

Dead Space - 27th January

2008 sci-fi survival horror Dead Space returns this month with a brand new, rebuilt version heading to PS5.

We're sure those of you who played this one on the PS3 back in the day will remember everything it has to offer, but here's a recap for anyone who missed it:

Isaac Clarke is an everyman engineer on a mission to repair a vast Planet Cracker-class ship, the USG Ishimura, only to discover something has gone horribly wrong. The ship's crew has been slaughtered and Isaac’s beloved partner, Nicole, is lost somewhere on board.

Now alone and armed with only his engineering tools and skills, Isaac races to uncover the nightmarish mystery of what happened aboard the Ishimura in hopes of finding Nicole. Trapped with hostile creatures called Necromorphs, Isaac faces a battle for survival, not only against the escalating terrors of the ship but his own crumbling sanity.

Hogwarts Legacy - 10th February

Hogwarts Legacy finally arrives on PS5 on 10th February – remember that the PS4 version is launching a little later in April.

This "immersive, open-world" action RPG will have you experiencing Hogwarts and other areas of Harry Potter's magical world in the 1800s. You'll be journeying through familiar and new locations as you explore and discover magical beasts, customise your character and craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade your talents and more, and it looks like it could be a real winner.
