In Saros, two of the most important items you can find during the game are Lucenite and Halcyon. They're a big part of how you make progress, so gathering up as much as you can of these resources should be a priority, especially early on. What Is Lucenite in Saros?

Lucenite is the main resource you will find all throughout your time playing Saros.

It's a yellow crystal that you'll regularly find scattered throughout the environment, and enemies often drop it as well.

Lucenite is extremely useful, both when out on a run and especially when you're back at the hub, the Passage.

While out on a run, collecting Lucenite increases your Proficiency Level. This is important because your Proficiency Level influences how powerful Weapons will be when you find them during a run. The higher your Proficiency Level, the higher the level of the Weapons you find, and thus the more powerful they'll be.

When you die or complete a run, you return to the Passage and retain some or all of the Lucenite you've obtained.

This can be spent on permanent upgrades — a key part of how you power up and make progress in Saros.

How Do You Get Lucenite?

Lucenite is a common resource throughout Saros. You can find it in the environment, and it's also dropped by enemies when they're defeated.

If you find Aether (healing item) and your health is full, you can still collect it and it will be converted into Lucenite.

How to Earn Lucenite Fast in Saros

Lucenite is vital to the game, as it not only helps during the course of a run, but it's used to buy permanent upgrades back at the Passage.

Therefore, it's very important to collect as much of it as you can, especially early on.

Explore Everywhere

The main thing is that you search high and low for Lucenite, as there's a lot of it strewn about every environment, and sometimes not in obvious places.

Often, it'll be out in the open, leading you down pathways. However, Lucenite can be hidden out of view, so it pays to quickly do a lap of your surroundings, including searching up high and down low for those yellow crystals.

Level Up Your Drive

Drive is one of the core Attributes you can increase with permanent upgrades in the Passage.

When you open Primary, you'll be met with the Armour Matrix, which is where the tree of permanent upgrades can be found.

Drive is the yellow symbol that resembles two 'D's. It increases Lucenite gain, meaning you'll earn more of it each time you pick up a Lucenite crystal. Where possible, you should look to increase your Drive to maximise your Lucenite count.

Prioritise Lucenite Upgrades

Other important permanent upgrades are those directly related to Lucenite. These are represented by a square symbol with an 'L' in the corner.

There are several of these as you make your way up the Armour Matrix tree. They can make enemies drop more Lucenite on death, make dropped Lucenite stay longer before it disappears, and more. Activate them whenever you can to increase the amount of Lucenite you'll gather.

Drive and Lucenite Related Artefacts

Artefacts are powerful enhancements you will commonly find while out on a run. These items stay with you for the duration of a run, and can make some pretty significant changes and improvements.

Artefacts are often found as rewards when breaking open Containers.

Some Artefacts can boost your Lucenite gains, either through special effects or by simply boosting your Drive level.

Where to Find Halcyon in Saros

Now, let's go over Halcyon, an important thing to look out for while playing Saros.

What Is Halcyon in Saros?

Halcyon is another resource you'll find while playing, though it's much less common than Lucenite. It takes the form of a pink-ish, glowing crystal.

It's important to note that there is a finite supply of Halcyon; each biome in Saros only contains a set amount of the material. Once you reach that number, you won't find it in that biome anymore.

Unlike Lucenite, you do not lose any Halcyon if you die — it persists without penalty.

Halcyon is also used for permanent upgrades — some of the most valuable ones, in fact — so make sure to pick it up when you see it.

Where Is Halcyon in Saros?

Halcyon can be found down Side Paths, or most commonly as a reward when breaking open Containers.

It appears randomly, however. To maximise your chances of finding some Halcyon, we advise you to explore every Side Path and find as many Containers as you can. Doing so, you'll increase your chances of finding the material.
