How many monsters are there in Monster Hunter Wilds? Believe it or not, Capcom's series has always revolved around hunting monsters (did the name give it away?), and in particular, progression is built upon taking down big beasties. Fortunately, Wilds has plenty of unique creatures to slay (or capture, if you're feeling merciful).

There are a total of 29 'large' monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds at launch. You discover and fight the majority of these creatures during the main Low Rank campaign. Several more are then introduced through High Rank assignments.

Capcom is committed to adding more monsters through free updates, the first of which is set to drop in April 2025.

For comparison's sake, Monster Hunter World launched with a total of 37 large monsters, and it reached a staggering 71 large monsters with the release of its expansion, Iceborne. It's not unfair to assume that Wilds will feature a similar number of large monsters once Capcom's done supporting it.
