Horizon Forbidden West: What Are Blocked Paths?

A Blocked Path in Horizon Forbidden West appears when you reach an obstacle in the game that you're not yet equipped to deal with. If you come up against something new and there's no clear way to get past it, this will be marked on your map as a Blocked Path. Above pictured is the Blocked Path icon as it appears on the map — we've circled a couple of examples.

Horizon Forbidden West: How Do You Get Past Blocked Paths?

Unfortunately, if you come across a Blocked Path in Horizon Forbidden West, you can't get past it. Blocked Paths mean you've found something that the game hasn't told you how to solve yet. You will need to come back later once you learn how to deal with the obstacle present at the Blocked Path.

When you do gain the ability to clear those obstacles, the Blocked Path icon will be replaced with the appropriate icon on your map.
