Signal Spike: Walkthrough

This is a long quest, so get ready. First you'll want to head west of Camp Nowhere, where you'll find Silga fighting Scroungers and Spikesnouts. Help her out and then speak to her. You'll need to climb the nearby mountain, so use your Focus with R3 to highlight any potential pathways. Once you're at the top, Reacquire the Signal then use the ropes to get back down to speak with Silga again. It's decided that you'll triangulate the location of the signal at three different locations.

Your first stop will be at Scalding Spear, north of Silga's base. At the centre of Scalding Spear is a Tallneck's head, which you can climb up from near to where you met Yarra in The Wound in the Sand. Use your Pullcaster to get started. If you can't find the path, then use your Focus to highlight any ledges and grapple points. At the top, you can Reacquire the Signal and then glide back down.

Now you'll need to head to The Base, but you'll need to head to the southern side of the mountain. Use your Focus to find climbing paths, and about halfway up you'll have to deal with Frost Glinthawks, which can be killed with Fire damage. Once you've dealt with them, keep climbing to Reacquire the Signal. Then once you've got the coordinated, Shieldwing all the way down.

At the source of the signal, you'll need to deal with a bunch of machines, including Lancehorns, Ravagers, and an Acid Bellowback. You can detach the cannon from the Ravager to inflict some real pain. Then search beneath the rubble, under a pile of rocks, for the signal. There's a wall to the right that you can pry open, before you dive underwater. Loot the box for the components and return to Silga to complete the side quest.

How to Find the Source of the Signal in the Canyon

On the northern side of the canyon is a pile of collapsed rocks. If you use your Focus you can see the source of the signal pulsating in purple. On the right side of the signal, as you look at it, is a wall you can pry open. Head inside then dive underwater and follow the illuminated path. Pry open the box and loot its contents to find the source of the signal.
