The Wound in the Sand: Walkthrough

Upon arriving at Scalding Spear, you'll be thrust into a delicate political situation. The "wound", which is a well, has dried up, and causing trouble among Tenakth clans. Use your Focus with R3 to scan the well and then follow the pipes underground out of Scalding Spear and into the wilderness. Along the way you'll encounter Spikesnouts, which are weak to fire, and more Widemaws, who can be destroyed with Purgewater.

You'll need to re-route the water once you arrive at the end of the piping infrastructure in order to repair the pump. Use your Pullcaster in the main room with the lever to bring down a beam to climb on and open up a vent. In the next room, turn off the valve, use your Pullcaster to bring down another beam, and then pull the lever to re-route the water. Climb up the wall, onto the beam, and open the valve. Then return to Scalding Spear to complete the side quest, and get new instructions from Jetakka.

Water Pump: How to Repair It

In the room with the lever, use your Pullcaster to open a vent and bring down a platform to climb on. Use your Focus with R3 to illuminate handholds and climb through the vent. Close the valve and drop down. Use your Pullcaster to lower another beam, and then pull the lever at the back of the room. Climb up the wall and onto the beam to reach the ladder, then reopen the valve.
