Trailblaze Level is an important mechanic in Honkai: Star Rail, as many gameplay features and functions are gated behind it. You'll want to increase your Trailblaze Level as high as possible, and you can achieve this by earning Trailblaze EXP. We're going to explain how to get Trailblaze EXP and increase Trailblaze Level on this page.

How to Get Trailblaze EXP

You'll earn Trailblaze EXP purely from progressing through your adventure aboard the Astral Express, but if you're looking to level up quickly and want some more specific guidelines for how to increase your Trailblaze Level fast, we have some suggestions. Remember, you can view your Trailblaze Level at any time by pulling up your smartphone and looking beneath your profile information. This section also shows how much Trailblaze EXP you need to reach the next Trailblaze Level.

Complete Story Quests

There are two main types of quest in Honkai: Star Rail: Trailblaze Missions and Adventure Missions. The former quests comprise the main story of the game, while the latter are effectively side-quests. Completing both types of mission will reward you with Trailblaze EXP. Completing Daily Training, including the Daily Mission, also rewards you with Trailblaze EXP, so spend some time on these everyday if you intend to level up quickly.

Don't Forget Calyxes

As you progress through Honkai: Star Rail, you'll discover Calyxes, which are effectively combat gauntlets you can replay in return for rewards. Tackling these consumes Trailblaze Power, so there's a restriction to how many times you can replay them in a 24-hour period. However, you'll earn Trailblaze EXP for each attempt, making this a great way to quickly increase your Trailblaze Level.

Fulfil Operation Briefings

Operation Briefings can be found under the Interastral Guide, which is effectively an in-game walkthrough to help guide you through all of the release's systems and mechanics. Fulfilling the completion requirements of each Operation Briefing will reward you with Trailblaze EXP.

Master the Simulated Universe

The Simulated Universe is a roguelite-style gameplay mode in Honkai: Star Rail which rewards you for completing worlds filled with random enemies and obstacles. As you progress you'll unlock Blessings which buff your party in battle. Achieving milestones in this mode and beating worlds can reward you with an injection of Trailblaze EXP.

Open Treasure Chests

You'll earn a miniscule amount of Trailblaze EXP for each treasure chest you open, but it all adds up. You should be opening every treasure chest you find for the rewards inside anyway, and the small amount of progress you'll make towards your next Trailblaze Level only helps sweeten the deal.

How to Increase Trailblaze Level

As you accrue Trailblaze EXP, you'll make progress towards your next Trailblaze Level. As mentioned previously, you can always check your progress by bringing up your smartphone and looking directly beneath your profile information. Do keep in mind, however, that at Trailblaze Levels 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 65, you'll need to complete a Trial of the Equilibrium which raises your Equilibrium Level. This effectively increases the difficulty of the enemies you'll encounter, but also improves the rewards you'll earn in the game.

The required Trailblaze EXP to achieve each Trailblaze Level is outlined below. Please note, the Trailblaze EXP listed denotes the difference between Trailblaze Levels, and is not the cumulative amount.

Equilibrium Level Explained

Equilibrium Level works in conjunction with Trailblaze Level, and increases the overall difficulty of the enemies you'll encounter once you reach specific milestones. At Trailblaze Levels 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 65 you'll be tasked with completing a Trial of the Equilibrium, which will increase the difficulty of combat but provide you with greater rewards. If you want to constantly be making progress and earning the resources needed to level up characters, then you'll want your Equilibrium Level to be as high as your progress allows.
