How Do You Get Character EXP Materials in Honkai: Star Rail?

Character EXP Materials come in a trio of guises, with the rarer forms offering a greater amount of EXP per exchange. In total there are three types of Character EXP Materials: Travel Encounters, Adventure Logs, and Traveler's Guides. Each option offers the following amount of EXP:

• Travel Encounters: 1,000 EXP
• Adventure Logs: 5,000 EXP
• Traveler's Guides: 20,000 EXP

Below, we've accumulated a number of suggestions for how to get Character EXP Materials.

Grind Out Golden Calyxes

An easy method of earning Character EXP Materials is to invest your Trailblaze Power into the relevant Calyxes. As you increase your Trailblaze Level and subsequently Equilibrium Level, these gauntlets will become more difficult, allowing you to earn better rewards. Remember to focus specifically on the Calyxes that specifically reward Character EXP Materials if that's what you're looking to earn.

Don't Forget Assignments

After increasing your Trailblaze Level enough, you'll unlock Assignments. These can be used to send your characters off on resource gathering exercises. These will occur even while you're not playing the game, and you won't lose access to any characters you dispatch during gameplay. You can set how long you'd like the Assignment to take, but we'd recommend going for the 20 hour option. If you match a character's Path Type to the Assignment, you can even earn some bonus Character EXP Materials. This can be an easy way of increasing your resources of this consumable.

Progress Through the Game

Whether it's completing quests, opening treasure chests, or increasing your Trailblaze Level, you'll regularly earn Character EXP Materials simply by making progress through the game. If you've been pulling on banners, then you should have a stockpile of Undying Embers which can spent on up to 80 Adventure Logs per month. All of this can help bolster your stockpile of Character EXP Materials.

Rank Up Your Nameless Honor

Nameless Honor is an alternative to the ubiquitous Battle Pass, and levelling it up can earn you important consumables, like Character EXP Materials. You don't have to pay for the premium option to get some meaningful rewards here, although obviously you'll get rarer items and more of them if you do.

Keep an Eye on Events and Redeemable Codes

Events are timetabled promotional periods within Honkai: Star Rail where you'll earn rewards for fulfilling a number of tasks, including logging in everyday. Occasionally, there will be Character EXP Materials available as part of these periods.
