Dying Light 2: Should You Assign Facilities to the Survivors or the Peacekeepers? Guide 1

There are 10 Facilities you can assign to either the Survivors or the Peacekeepers in the game. Seven of these must be found in the open world, while the remaining three are part of the main story. If the Facility is a water tower, you need to make it to the top and turn a valve in order to get the water flowing again. If the Facility is a power station, you'll have to turn on generators by directing electricity through cables.

Once the objective has been completed, you'll be given the choice of assigning the Facility to either the Survivors or the Peacekeepers. You cannot change who gets the Facility after you've made your decision, so this is an important choice. If you're trying to unlock the Boot Licker Trophy, you must assign at least seven Facilities to a single faction. Therefore, this is a missable Trophy since there will come a time when there aren't enough Facilities to assign to a single faction if you're not planning ahead.

There are rewards for assigning Facilities to either the Survivors or the Peacekeepers. Listed below are all rewards from factions if you assign them a Facility.

All Survivor Rewards

Here are all seven rewards you can get by assigning Facilities to the Survivors faction. They are based around parkour and helping you traverse the open world more easily. For every Facility you assign to the Survivors, the more rewards you'll unlock.

Number of Facilities Assigned to the Survivors Reward Description
1 Ziplines Survivors place ziplines in all zones that they control.
2 Airbags Survivors place airbags in all zones that they control.
3 Landing Bags Survivors place landing bags in all zones that they control.
4 Survivor Revival Survivors can revive you close to a location at which you've fallen.
5 Ait Vents Survivors place air vents in all zones that they control.
6 Upgraded Air Bags Survivors place upgraded air bags in all zones that they control.
7 Two-Way Ziplines Survivors place two-way ziplines in all zones that they control.

All Peacekeeper Rewards

Here are all seven rewards you can get by assigning Facilities to the Peacekeepers faction. They are based on combat and fending off the undead horde. For every Facility you assign to the Peacekeepers, the more rewards you'll unlock.

Number of Facilities Assigned to the Peacekeepers Reward Description
1 Car Traps PKs install car traps in all zones that they control.
2 PK Razor Cannon PKs install razor cannons in all zones that they control.
3 Electrical Traps PKs install electrical traps in all zones that they control.
4 Crossbow Pack Receive a crossbow and a set of unique blueprints for elemental bolts.
5 Molotov Lanterns PKs install molotov lanterns in all zones that they control.
6 Pendulum Traps PKs install pendulum traps in all zones that they control.
7 UV Trap PKs install UV traps in all zones that they control.

Dying Light 2: Should You Assign Facilities to the Survivors or the Peacekeepers?

Not only do you have to consider the rewards you'll be handed by assigning Facilities to either the Survivors or Peacekeepers, but also their ideologies and the overarching narrative. If you agree with one faction more than the other, then that can trump any rewards you could receive in-game.

For our own playthrough, we assigned Facilities to the Survivors. They welcome you in (eventually) at the Bazaar, and we were more interested in rewards to parkour rather than combat. As a result, we recommend assigning facilities to the Survivors. However, going with the Peacekeepers instead is just as much of a viable option. Maybe you'd prefer those sweet combat rewards instead.

Don't forget that if you're looking to unlock the Boot Licker Trophy, you must prefer one faction over the other and assign seven Facilities to either the Survivors or Peacekeepers in order to unlock it.
