The name says it all. List & discuss your favorite sci-fi games. It can be top 5, 10, or whatever. You may include licensed titles & multiple titles from the same series, though I personally won't be doing so. 10. Mighty Switch Force! ( 3DS ) - While short, it's a solid little platformer with amazingly awesome spritework. 9. Bionic Commando ( GB ) - Very impressive for a Game Boy title, thanks to it being a pretty direct port of the NES title (now with an even more sci-fi flavor). The levels were very large and intricate for the platform, and if it had a few more interesting bosses, it may have been higher. 8. Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge ( GB ) - My only Mega Man game, I've played it so much that I can usually beat all four initial robot master stages without dying once. Was originally never able to beat the Wily Castle stages, but thanks to the save states on 3DS VC , I was finally able to complete this little gem. 7. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition ( 360 ) - While nothing revolutionary, it's a very solid shooter, with some very impressive boss fights. The subtitle is dead on with the vibe of the game world too, which makes this one of the harshest adventures on my list. 6. VVVVVV ( 3DS ) - Don't let the extremely retro graphics fool you, this is a pure sci-fi adventure where you must rescue your spaceship crew from a very bizarre dimension. The awesome platforming is very addicting, and the rockin' soundtrack never gets old. 5. InFamous ( PS3 ) - While Empire City might not be the most exciting game world to explore, never before has a game made you feel like a superhero more than this one, and it has a few kicka** bosses too. 4. Metal Gear Rising ( 360 ) - While I felt MGS3 was the better game (the only other Metal Gear I've played), I felt this simply felt more sci-fi, so that's why I went with it. It's no slouch itself, with some of the best visuals I've seen on the 360 , amazing gameplay, flashy bosses, and the kinds of unlockables I like (yay! concept art). 3. Zone of the Enders: the Second Runner HD ( 360 ) - While not a perfect game, it built on the solid foundations of the first game to become something truly special. The gameplay is awesome, has a nice cast of bosses (though one was irritating), some totally awesome missions near the end, and I just adore the game world of the series as a whole. 2. Portal: Still Alive ( 360 ) - This game absolutely blew me away when I first played it. A tad short, but there's really nothing else quite like it, and GLADoS is one of the most memorable video game personalities of all time. 1. Metroid Fusion ( GBA ) - While Super Metroid is just as good, I went with Fusion simply because I played it first. Classic "Metroidvania" gameplay perfected, I loved the variety of environments, and the back & forth with the SA-X is one of the most tense things I've ever experienced in gaming. So, how about you? EDIT: altered post to include Portal: Still Alive (how I forgot that the first time around is beyond me).

@Splat: @kyleforrester87: The mass effect trilogy is epic Kyle you would love it @Tasuki you need to play the first game for 4-5 hours to get into it and approximately 5 minutes of 2 and 3 after that as you wont be able to stop playing. ME is the holy trinity like ff7-9 for ps1 or Cannon fodder, swos and Speedball for the Amiga or Mario Bros 1-3 for the new. These games are that good.

I love the Mass Effect series. The first one's side quests are horrendous and its inventory system a mess but the story is brilliant. I was so engrossed. And the music is just perfect. The sequels fix the first one's issues so they are a more streamlined and enjoyable experience. Between 2 and 3 I think 3 is better but I love the mood of 2.

Portal 2 is absolutely god-tier. One of the funniest games I've played and the puzzles are brilliant. The gels really add a new dimension to the gameplay.

I have to say the best sci-fi game I've played is Half Life 2. I have no words. Okay I do. The level design, the pacing, Ravenholm, the gravity gun. All of it perfection.

As a side note I'll include Final Fantasy VIII. It is futuristic and the story deals with metaphysics. Oh and there's a section where they're in space.
