Just wondering if anyone here has picked this up and what the verdict is? I'm looking at potentially selling off my current 3DS XL to help fund picking up the newer model, with this game being one of the main factors in that decision (that and the new "Super Stable" 3D changes), but I thought I'd ask around first and see if people reckon it's worth the upgrade? Also just opinions in general on how much of an improvement the N3DS consoles are over the old editions. I don't have a circle pad pro either, so another reason for buying is the c-stick for camera control, as I also want to pick up KH:DDD but don't fancy it if I need to use the touch screen to control the camera, as in other games I've played like the MH4U demo I've found that method of control pretty horrible.

New 3ds is a definitely huge upgrade from the old version. 3D changes are amazing, and as I've never used the 3d option with my old 3ds, I found myself using the feature on the new model almost all the time. It even doesn't hurt your eyes anymore! C-stick is also a fantastic change. While it seems a bit weird in the begining, especially since it doesn't move, you get used to it very fast and controls become much easier, especially in MH4U! Overall, I'd say the upgrade is well worth, especially since it's in the same price range, and out of two models, in my opinion the standard one is a better size. I used to own 3DS XL but bought a standard model New 3DS and was extremely happy with the size change, it seems more portable and it just holds better in your hands!
As for Xenoblade Chronicles, unfortunatelly I can't say anything as I bought Japanese New 3ds for the sake of learning Japanese, but quickly realized it was a stupid idea as I don't understand as much from the games as I thought I would... So I sold the console... But the reviews are really nice! Also, you'd probably get better answers from the Nintendolife forums!
I'd wager you'll get a few more responses (and faster to) asking Here and Here, I don't own a New 3DS yet but have played on one for quite some time and it felt like a nice improvement for areas like 3D and the C nub feels all right (I like the CPP a bit more as it is spacious). Xenoblade Chronicles is just an amazing game so if you can't get it on Wii I'd definitely recommend buying the New 3DS version.
Edit: Both links are to NintendoLife threads on the subject.
I have a New 3DS too and as @mateq said, it's a huge upgrade from the old version. The 3D effect is a lot better and the C-Stick is really good after you get used to it.
As for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, I found it to be a pretty good port. I have the Wii version, but never got around to play it, because I'm now used to play RPGs on handhelds. I didn't notice many frame drops, but the graphics feel a little muddy sometimes and there are also times when the grass has a strange effect. Having said that, the visual compromises don't hit as hard as I thought it would and the portability is great! I'm 34 hours in and loving every second of it.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I knew I'd probably get more responses on the NL forums, but I also figured that I might get more impartial views over here haha. I'm certain now that I'll be making the upgrade, it's just a case of when. ShopTo do have a great deal on at the moment - £140 for the console + a free DL of Mario Kart 7 (which I already own, but would enable me to trade in my physical copy towards the console), which is very tempting.
However, I'm tempted to wait until after E3, just on the off chance they announce any new price cuts (unlikely but you never know). In the meantime, I dug out FF Tactics A2 at the weekend, which I started years ago but never completed as my DS at the time broke. That should definitely keep me going for a while at least, as I'm starting from scratch and remember it being a pretty big game!
