@Metonymy haha, cheers. It felt like something between Ghost Rider and Sin City as I was tweaking the poses and dialing up the contrast 😁 I love how bad-ass Atsu is anyway, so any excuse to show it I will probably take.
Love the mist and weather and the slick surface in that one, too.

@Ravix Thanks! Took me a bit to get Atsu’s foot just right, I can only imagine the coding that goes on behind the scenes to facilitate such precise reactivity of Atsu to the environment.
@Kairuuu Beautiful! That is an incredible shade of red.
@Metonymy I see what you're doing there, painting with some bandit blood, haha. Now turn on 'Miike Mode' in the game settings for the snowy regions... trust me. It is a little annoying with the mud in the other regions, but the extra splatter contrasted in the snow 😱

@Ravix I did turn it on once but I just so happened to be in a muddy region and was laughing every time Atsu took a step. I’ll definitely give it a try in a snowy region!

Just finished up a session of The Outer Worlds 2 and after installing a No HUD mod to at least rectify the missing photo mode somewhat, I tried my best to take a few shots of the planet I'm currently exploring. I feel ashamed to put them here with all the photo mode goodness above, but realise I did my best! Haha. Just wanted to showcase how pretty this game can look sometimes.
@Tjuz Looks good and like a fun game, nice contrasts with the pink on the right and blue on the left. Was that intentional? I skipped the first game, I was told it's very linear and I was hoping to explore
These violent delights have violent ends & in their triumph die, like fire & powder Which, as they kiss, consume.
@GirlVersusGame It was intentional! I had to find a good place that would inherently bring some prettiness to the table for a screenshot with the lack of a photo mode, and this seemed as good a spot as any, haha. Yeah, I understand you'd be turned off by the more linear nature of the first game. I'd love to say the second is different, but it still feels like a bunch of hub worlds you go through in a fairly linear fashion. I suppose there's some variation here and there, but there's not really much freedom in the order you can tackle stuff outside of exploring and just doing quest stuff before you receive it from an NPC. At least it's very pretty!
@Tjuz I must have read you wrong, I thought that was photo-mode. It looks like you even set the range and field, the colours really pop
Here's one of my favorites. I'm not gaming at the moment but it's from Tchia and it's still in my folder. It's a deer I met. The camera in the game is like an actual traditional one so you need to incorporate film type/iso speed/DoF/aperture etc and then bring it to the camera booth in the game-world and develop it much like a real film minus the deadly chemicals. It's a 3:2 viewfinder and you can switch out different lens like 18mm and I think telephoto. It's very trial and error but if you already understand the basics of photography you can pick it up rather quickly.

@GirlVersusGame Can't take any credit for the colours I'm afraid, that really is just the game! If anything it's a testament to their art design, so I'm happy I was able to showcase how impressive it can be.
I love That shot of Tchia! I'm not too familiar with it, but you've helped make it look gorgeous. All the actual effort to get those photos developed you mentioned seem too much to me though! I love that they tried something new with it and that it works within the context of the game, but that's too much of a barrier of entry for me to play around with. I'm not well-versed enough in photography to pick up on that quick enough, haha. But if it can result in great shots like that, then it's hard to argue with the results of people who know better what they're doing!
@Tjuz It's a shame I can't see your shots from The Outer Worlds 2 on the previous page (as Imgur is currently blocked in my country). Don't panic, though! Just wanted to address why I'm not reacting to them, after we spoke about the game's visuals recently.
@Bentleyma Still can't believe that was all made in Dreams. It looks so good!

@GirlVersusGame Thank you! It's definitely one of my favourite Photo Modes of all time, they put a heck of a lot of effort into its options. You can get some incredible shots.

@Werehog One that sticks out for me is Dragon's Dogma 2, their photo engine handled particles, light, DoF, fabric and skin very well. It's just a shame they did nothing else with the game, I never even tried a second playthrough.
Valhalla did a very good job too, especially for an early PS5 game.
Ark got it right too but that was partly down to the Unreal engine. Most of my screenshots in each game seem to be of animals. Except for Cyberpunk but that's a highly spoilable game.

@Werehog Ah! I had no clue Imgur was blocked in some countries. I'll switch to Imgbb just to make sure everybody can see what I post! Thank you for letting me know. I've edited my other post to have Imgbb links instead as well in case you wanna go back and take a look. I will also quickly echo GVG's sentiment that that Batgirl shot is pure perfection! As much as I've heard middling things about Gotham Knights, that photo mode seems worth the price of admission alone for the keen screenshotters among us. Gorgeous all around!
@GirlVersusGame That ARK shot is giving me traumatic flashbacks of my sleeping berries being stolen by those seagull dinosaurs when I'm trying to tame another species! I love that Valhalla shot especially, though. The framing, the lighting... just stunning!

I've been chipping away more on The Outer Worlds 2 and have landed on a new planet. I was scared when I found out this was going to be the dreaded "ice planet" of the game, but so far so good. It's particularly pretty in a game filled with visual goodness, however! Just had to take a few shots on my travels. Thank the lord for the disabling of the HUD and the holster mechanic!
@GirlVersusGame First up, apologies for skating over the question in your initial reply the other day. Yes, that is indeed Batgirl in the screenshot you kindly highlighted!
Secondly, those are some awesome examples from great Photo Modes! And not just because they focus on animals (as I'll often do the same). Although that triceratops is super-cute, and the fox in the snow is a really dynamic shot, too! Your first shot from Dragon's Dogma 2 made me smile, largely because I've been using the Photo Mode in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered to capture Aloy holding that exact same pose this past week. Thanks for sharing!

@Tjuz I hope it wasn't too much trouble to switch to another image-hosting site, but I'm grateful you did, because I can now see what you meant about The Outer Worlds 2 and its striking alien landscapes! They're very dramatic, and most definitely places that'd encourage me to explore. My favourite is probably the second shot from your ice planet batch, that interior environment is gorgeous! I'm glad you were able to get rid of the HUD and hope you're continuing to enjoy your travels!
And thank you for praising my Gotham Knights shot, as well. I personally have a much, much higher opinion of the game than most folks but, separate from such discourse, there's no denying that its Photo Mode is one of the all-time greats.

@AhmadSumadi Good grief, those character models are stunning!! That last shot in particular!
"If I let not knowing anything stop me from doing something, I'd never do everything!"
@Werehog Right! The character detail and voice work in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is top notch! Every character looks and sounds so perfect. The game is brilliant! One of the things I particularly love is that there are no pre-rendered cutscenes.
