@Kairuuu Nice work! That first shot in the alley has a great energy to it, nice lens usage. It’s also near photo realistic. Graphics have gotten crazy, haven’t they?
@Oram77 That’s rad! I think it’d make an awesome t-shirt.

Decided on a whim to start Enslaved: Odyssey to the West tonight, which I must've been eyeing now for a good decade. So far, I've not been disappointed... but I'm mostly surprised by how well this PS3 title has held up graphically in the time since. Lower resolution textures here and there aside, it still looks stunning! I made some shots while I played that I think get that point across very well.
@Kairuuu These are great, I never planned on playing the game but when I saw photo-mode being mentioned I did hope someone would upload some pictures, just to see how it looked and you captured exactly what I suspected. That's one scary looking, but well built looking, game.
@Oram77 The blue was a great choice, what game is it?
@Tjuz I've seen that game's name before but never played it, graphics-wise it looks more like a PS4 game, maybe even a PS5 one. I really like how colourful and vibrant it is, a kind of reminder of how much colour that PS3 generation had. So many PS4 ones seemed brown and muted. That middle one looks like an avatar on another App we've used, you see that too? Did you create that character or is that a huge coincidence? Kingdom Come Deliverance has no photo-mode but eventually I'll add some scenery shots, it's a really beautiful looking game in-terms of greenery/lighting, I'm on a small break from gaming at the moment, maybe looking for landscapes would be a good slow step back into it. The story has gotten really complex/involved and I need to get track of it again. Are you playing on the PS3 or is the game on Premium? I'm guessing the latter.
These violent delights have violent ends & in their triumph die, like fire & powder Which, as they kiss, consume.
@GirlVersusGame Yeah, it really is a gorgeous game. I was consistently surprised at how detailed the character models were for a mid-gen PS3 game, only to be viscerally jumpscared by the first 240p resolution texture in my face right after. Haha. I can't make fun of it too much since it's an older game at this point which clearly did the best it could with the tech it had available, but I do wish there had been a remaster of sorts at this point! Not that it didn't (mostly) hold up well though, so I can see why it's not a priority for the publisher either. Especially with the lower sales at the time.
But yeah, I definitely see the likeness you mean with the second screenshot! I'm not sure if Trip is better looking than myself put through a woman filter, but we'll call it even to preserve my ego. Trip is fully pre-made, so I had no part in making that character look the way she does! It's very much a linear game with zero customization options outside of some weapon/health/shield upgrades. The usual. I've been playing it on my PC actually, which is where I mostly game exclusively at this point. I did have to grab my DualShock 4 out for this one, as the PC controls are notoriously unfun. It's one of those PC ports of yesteryear where clearly not a lot of effort was put in to make it a good experience on the platform, so it takes some tinkering to work properly and play to the best of its abilities.
I have no doubt Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has some real potential for gorgeous shots, so I'll be looking forward to whenever you get around to playing again and seeing what you're able to create!

Surprisingly, I already finished the main campaign of Enslaved. It only took me about 8.5 hours. I didn't expect it to be quite that short, but I'll share some of my final screenshots. After that, it's just the DLC left and I can consider this one dusted off and completed!

And oddly enough I don't think I have a copy of the game in my collection, I thought perhaps it went under another name then had a look through some shelves and it wasn't there. I wonder if it was a region thing, I checked and it said it was a hidden gem due to sales. I slowed down on collecting, it feels like depriving the people who would play the game out of a copy. Especially if it's niche and a hidden gem, private collectors can affect a kind of price hike. I think there's a responsibility to leave some for other people if that makes sense. They might be approaching it out of nostalgia, I'm not.

The avatar icon can be a filter but the others weren't and I thought you were pretty even if you didn't see it. I'd never seen anyone do that before, sort of toggle gender looks before and it was really striking in a good way. And if you had fun? that's the main thing. I mean this as a compliment. Which honestly is why I have to keep reminding myself that you are male, regularly. When I first started gaming I thought peoples actual gender was reflected by their on-screen character, not at all. Someone cleared it up one day with 'if I'm going to put hours into a game I want to have a good view while doing it', I couldn't fault that logic. Which I think is why people really like Stellar Blade as a character. Others might see sexism, I don't. Mainly because it's a virtual character, one they paid for.
Every man I've ever known offline was born in a suit and tie, so in a way everyone in my offline looks the same especially the younger guys because they all have shaved heads and if it wasn't for ink I couldn't hardly tell some of them apart. Maybe it's just me but there's a really fascinating and almost bravery I see there, to do something different. Sort of like rebellion, a girl can rebel in many ways, do many things but I never thought about a boy, when it comes to looks and fashion I mean. I don't want to sound hyper-focused on it, I just found it really interesting and still do. I'm not trying to reduce you to a novelty, I know what that's like myself, to be sought after because of certain somethings. But now that I think of it maybe some do, this is the problem curiosity you'll have to tell me to stop or I won't know to.

I could feel an older controller when you said that and it's because I do switch between consoles, each time it takes a while to get familiar with each controller. With the Playstation ones it feels like my hands are changing size each time, it's the same basic design but the size keeps changing. Or if you know the PS4 Nacon line? I kept stabbing myself with my nails with those, one day I'll avatar some longer ones and you'll see what I mean. It's like X-men, you'll see what I mean. I don't game much with those and piano becomes impossible. I'm trying to think of anything that doesn't.

It's the first one, I never played the PS4 version either and it has no photo-mode which means more effort, it's strange they didn't add one with the PS5 upgrade. I've been trying to get back into gaming, I think it's been a week. Maybe I take an hour and roam the landscape for some screenshots, it could be the nudge needed to get back in there. It got too hard to keep up with the story, the requirements, the people to find and talk to, then to decide what the right choice was in dialogue. So many reloads.

That really is quick, I sometimes think those older games were shorter but it's probably because I play so many forever games, technically they never end. Then when I did try something with a story it was Yakuza and that took a month. When you say PC do you mean you are emulating PS3 games like the article I read last night? I didn't know that could be done until I read the comments.
Did PS3 have photo-mode? I was looking at your last three screen-shots and it never occurred to me that you were using photo-mode on a PS5 game. Is it strange that I see animals in each? A turtle in the first, a fish in the second and a horse in the third? I think the middle one is my favorite, the colour really pops and that smaller wall looks really detailed for a PS3 game, also I like the set of legs, it looks like they are being blown backwards. Will you be adding some Resident Evil ones next?
You said jumpscare, this one got me in my game. If you can imagine a screen-shot having a sound. I screamed and while trying to draw a sword hit pause instead, someone came into the room because it was so loud. It's in the what are you playing thread. I wasn't expecting that thing/person to rush forward, it's not a horror game. The game got turned off after that and bedtime. The Developers were experimenting with that side-quest. This 'you cannot save in combat', I had to rebuild the database the next day, they'd unplugged it from the wall. I thought the doors were going to come off the hinges, it was so late at night and they heard that scream. I don't know how you handle Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc. If I see a spider I freeze but no sound comes out, that thing was so much worse. It might sound funny but even re-thinking about it is making me nervous, and it's only a game.
@GirlVersusGame Yeah, it was far from a big seller at the time. Its reputation has definitely grown as more of a hidden classic, hence it not having a sequel. I'm a little disappointed by the fact that there is no sequel as I think the ending was finally some set-up for really interesting world-building, but alas. I still doubt that Enslaved in particular is a very hard physical copy to come by however! Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't PS3 games in general still fairly on the cheap side when it comes to collecting used copies? The particularly rare ones notwithstanding, of course.
Haha, I totally get that you associate the gender of a person by the way they present themselves online. I've assumed wrongly which gender someone was time and time again before getting to know them properly! And yes, I do look stunning in my fake luscious red hair. And you clocked correctly that that's exactly the type of character I would create in a game whenever there is customisation to play around with. It's always the red hair for me! Though I don't abide by the logic of "might as well have something pretty to look at", because while my characters are objectively pretty, they're very much not my type in that sense! That would suggest I'd make male characters more often... which I basically never do. It's always either a red-headed woman, or the most ridiculous looking character I can manage to create. The latter usually in co-op. No worries about the curiosity, I am absolutely not shy about discussing anything!
I don't know the PS4 Nacon controllers, but I had a little google and see what you mean. Essentially the same issue as when my roommate tried to play games on his keyboard with long nails on! It was not a success for him. And ah, wrongly assumed it was the sequel for KCD2. I hope that a little tour through the countryside will be just what you need to reignite some passion for continuing.
I would say older games generally are shorter for sure. This one being from the Heavenly Sword and Hellblade people... it was not surprising it was on the shorter side. I feel like they always focus more on technical achievements rather than a long play-time. Which to be clear, is totally fine by me. I'd much rather have a tight, author-driven 8-hour experience than one that pads out playtime with endless stuff to do. I didn't emulate it. It had a native PC port released a few years after it initially came out on consoles, so I played it that way. It also doesn't have a photo mode, but I installed a few small mods to make these types of screenshots possible. No fully-fledged photo modes, but exclusively a simple mod to remove the HUD elements to not have them on the screen as I take a picture. The screenshots I posted are a mix of that and shots out of cutscenes. And yeah, you correctly surmised that the protagonist is being launched away from the enemy in the second shot after the explosion! And no, it's not strange to see animals in all of them as I see the exact same.
I didn't take any Resident Evil: Requiem shots, so nothing for that alas. I just focused on playing the game there with no breaks in-between! Well, I would laugh, but your jumpscare sounds like it was not a fun experience at all. I'm just completely desensitised to horror at this point that absolutely nothing gets me. Playing a Silent Hill or Resident Evil feels no different from me in reactions than playing something like Uncharted, despite the drastically different atmosphere and intentions. That just goes for media, though! I'd still be a total scaredy cat in real life.
@Kairuuu I'll second the praise of your first Requiem shot on the previous page! They're all good but that one in particular stands out, it's very striking!
@Oram77 Blimey, that shot of Grace would make great box art, or an album cover! Nicely done!
@Tjuz I was about to ask if you were streaming the PS3 version of Enslaved on PS5 (and comment on the jaw-dropping quality of the visuals) before I noticed you said it's the PC version. That makes a lot more sense but yes, it's still a gorgeous game! Haven't played it in years, but your well-timed shots have me seriously considering a replay. Thanks for sharing!

Here with my first batch of shots from Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, all of which focus on the first few levels of my all-time favourite, The Last Revelation.
There are loads more in the full gallery, including plenty of "classic graphics" variants. I'll try not to over-share, but I'm snapping almost a hundred shots per session, so please believe me when I say that I'm only uploading a handful of highlights here!
"If I let not knowing anything stop me from doing something, I'd never do everything!"
@Werehog Almost a hundred shots per session?! How much of your playtime does taking screenshots actually eat up? I've always been impressed by your shots and know certain ones would take quite some effort to get perfect, but if you're doing that for hundred shots each time I can't imagine the time it'd take you. Or maybe you've just become such a professional with photo modes that this is nothing but second nature to you at this point. That you could even narrow them down to just ten of them is an achievement in and of itself!
And to that point, I'll always be a big fan of your in-motion shots. Great stuff as always. That said, I am incredibly partial to the fifth shot of Lara sitting on the front of the car. I don't think I can say this word uncensored on the forum, but you should be familiar enough with gay lingo to understand what I mean when I say that shot is c-word-y as hell! Love it.
