Topic: PS2 Online Gaming

I know most people are playing newer Sony systems but I thought I might as well ask. This forum is for anyone who wants to play PS2 games online with other players. I recently bought Call of Duty 3 for PS2 and it still plays online. From what I've seen so far, the game usually has 0-5 people playing at a time online. If anyone else has this game, or any others, inform others so we can enjoy playing our PS2 games online with others. Happy gaming

That's awesome you are still playing. I didnt even know they still supported the PS2! Unfortunatly i got rid of my ps2 long ago otherwise i would be playing with you! game on!

Yeah, its a real trip. It is really fun once you get into a good game. I hope on getting more games that still play online. I seem to only get games that no longer play online.

I didn't even know that PS2 had online connection. 

It's good.to see Ps2 games are still playable online. I used to play Ps2 games all the time back in the day over.the net. As far as I know any Ps2 that uses gamespy for its online still works online I've.got a slim Ps2 tucked away that I could dig out to try a few games and see if they still work

Hi Pichuka! I subscribed so I could reply to this thread, lol.
I just recently bought a PS2 and was thinking how awesome would be to be able to play online. I skipped that generation of gaming as I was "somewhere else" with my head and my life, and I thought there was no point on going straight to the new generation of consoles when I missed, apparently, a great one.

I will attempt tonight to find out which games are still online. I know it´ll be a pain among set ups, game finding, lags, etc. But it looks like I like challenges.

Heh, I had no idea either until just recently. It's pretty weird to think I played that console so much ages ago and never connected it to the Internet once, since I didn't even know it had Internet connectivity, while there were probably many other people playing it online together.

Yeah now that I think about it the only game I knew that was online was that one Final Fantasy that was packaged with a modem or something I dont remember what exactly it was.  I guess back then online gaming wasn't as big as it is now.  I mean honestly the only system I remember having any online structure during that gen was the Xbox.

anyone still play ssx3 / twisted metal black / fight night 3 online?

I used to play SOCOM 2, Killzone and SSX3 on my PS2. Would love to try it again, no real reason why I can't I guess! Still, it always felt quite limited, as I was big into Counter-Strike on PC at the time as well.

The UK cable infrastructure stopped many people jumping into internet gaming at the time of the ps2 release, dial up was awful. It became more popular as the high speed internet improved.

Let's see back during the PS2 Era I was still on dial up myself. I didn't get cable Internet till 2007. I remember the AOL disc and that wonderful sound the computer would make when it connected to the internet.

And your in California the home of the intertubes. But yes, its strange, I miss that sound.
