I had The pS1 not long after it launched in Japan.
I love fighting games and SF2 will always be up there amongst my faves.
Then Playstation came along...I love Tekken but my favourite was Tobal No 1.

Tekken was wonderful but Tobal introduced a new dynamic.

I never had a PS1 šŸ„²

Bloody Roar for me. Hard game and interesting feature being able to go into beast mode. Difficulty could be unforgiving in the later stages though.....well when I was like 5 years old anyway.

@hypnotoad I've never been big on fighting games myself but, aside from a few Tekken demos, I did have X-Men: Mutant Academy on PSone. It was pretty great... providing nobody ever used Wolverine because, if you spammed his basic R1 attack, he could endlessly juggle any opponent. As soon as my brother figured this out, it broke the game, and we never played its multiplayer ever again.

Tekken 2 and 3 are absolutely brilliant. Street Fighter Alpha was great on PS1 as well. Marvel vs Capcom was ported too but the Dreamcast versionā€™s way better.

Hi there fellow gamers.
Interesting topic. HereĀ“s the ones that I loved playing the most way back:

  • Soul Blade;
  • Tekken 2;
  • Tekken 3;
  • Bloody Roar 2;
  • Dead or Alive;
  • Street Fighter Ex Plus Alpha;
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3;
  • The King of Fighters 99;
  • Marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter;
  • Capcom Vs SNK Pro;
  • Mortal Kombat Trilogy;
  • Kengo Master of Bushido;
  • Bushido Blade;
  • Kensei Sacred Fist;
  • DarkStalkers;
  • DarkStalkers 3;
  • Rival Schools;
  • Guilty Gear.
    Quite a few, right? I used to be even more enamored with fighting games.
    Now, I just play them in a more casual way. ThereĀ“s way to many other games to play and enjoy.

One of my favourites was Ehrgeiz. I loved the mix of Final Fantasy characters and an RPG mode.

@Bentleyma- I still don't know how to pronounce that, y'know.

@RogerRoger Iā€™ve always pronounced it ā€œEr-geezā€. Probably been butchering it.

@Bentleyma- Yeah, I attempt it now and come out with something that sounds close to "Err, guys?" but every time I've seen it over the years, I've pronounced it differently.

Am pretty sure that, if you just made a random noise, gamers would know what game you meant!

@RogerRoger @Bentleyma- It's German for "ambition" and it's pronounced something like "er-guy-ts', I guess

@Voltan After 23 years I now know how to pronounce it, but Iā€™ll more than likely carry on pronouncing it my way because Iā€™m set in my ways now!

@Voltan What I find funny is that I physically cannot pronounce that properly due to my accent. The ā€˜erā€™ bit is soft in a German accent but I roll my ā€˜rā€™s and itā€™s a really hard habit to break.

@nessisonett I don't have that problem because I couldn't roll an r if my life depended on it (which technically means I have a "speech deficiency" when speaking Polish but you wouldn't know in some other languages)

@Voltan I know the feeling, I have a bit of a lisp and so sausages is my least favourite word in the English language šŸ˜‚
