Well I'm making this thread because I have some questions about Monster Hunter Generations, in particular if I could summon you @JaxonH as you seem to know the game inside out
1) My Palico's are low on enthuasim (1 paw each) - I've stuck them both in the Dojo and they are catnapping but it just says "1 left". How long do i need to wait to get them back? I did a gathering quest but no joy.
2) By extension should I typically have multiple Palico's on the go so I can keep some in the Dojo while using others?
3) How do I cook food? (oh think I figured it out, i was talking to the chef and it kept saying i didn't have ingredients, but then I sat on the bench and it let me use a voucher I apparently had :S)
@kyleforrester87:
Typically one paw per quest, so ya you'll want about 10 of them total.. Keep 2 for going on quests, another 3 for Meownster Hunters, another 1 for trading (up to 3 later), and some in the bullpen to swap out with as they lose enthusiasm. If you do that, you don't even really need to use the dojo. Just swap out as needed- they'll gain it back naturally.
For food, sit down at the bench and select "Order Meal" or something to that effect. You'll wanna do quests to unlock ingredients, then make different combinations with the felyne to unlock new dishes.

Every quest counts. I never keep track though. Honestly I don't pay attention how long it takes for their enthusiasm to return.
But maybe where you have them is not recouping anything. And because they're "occupied" they're just gonna stay stuck ar nothing. I would just take them out of that dojo and just play the game. You'll recover one paw every quest on their own without having to put them in that place. As long as they aren't "assigned" anywhere, they'll recover.

If you need someone to hunt with just hit me up. I'm OP for you now, but you can learn a lot hunting with others online. Plus there's a totally separate campaign of quests for online play, and you'll want access to some of the higher rank quests later when you decide to farm certain monsters online to speed things up (and it's just fun hunting online).
So please, don't hesitate to tag me if you fee up for running through a few keys in the online hub. Usually people learn most by observation.

@JaxonH: Yes, that would be great. Havn't done any multiplayer yet. I've opened up all villages and beaten the Great Maccao a bunch of times and made some dual daggers with a tiny bit of green on them. I beat Tetsucabra once. I'm still not 100% sure on how the game is supposed to flow (I'm offered quests by 2 vendors in the first village, for example - am I supposed to be prioritising any of those or moving over to the new villages already) and other aspects are pretty confusing but after 20 hours lots of what was Chinese is now making sense.
Maybe we can have a go on Saturday given you're in USA.
