Topic: Missed PS+ games

Even as I write this I am 99.99999999999% certain that I know the answer here, but it never hurts to double check.

So, just on the off chance it might be possible, has anyone tried to or know anybody that has been able to (presumably I guess by contacting Sony) obtain PS+ games that were given away during a period they had a valid subscription, but where they forgot to add them to their library?

I was a little late to the party getting a Vita, so in the early days of Vita PS+ I wasn't always as vigilant as I should've been, which led to me apparently missing out on all of the following which I could've had for free...

Chronovolt
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Jet Set Radio
The Pinball Arcade
Lumines Electronic Symphony
MGS HD Collection
Puddle
Zero Escape: VLR
Velocity Ultra
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus
Unit 13
Lego Lord of the Rings
Motorstorm RC
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend
Dynasty Warriors Next
ModNation Racers: Road Trip

Never bothered to check the past lists before, but now I did I'm absolutely gutted, as I'd be interested in playing pretty much all of those and the combined price of that little lot would be pretty steep! Maybe if I ask Sony nicely they'll activate it all on my account.....

Welcome to the Vita club! Sorry, but I think you're out of luck. My friend missed out on his free copy of inFAMOUS First Light on PS4 when he was a Plus Subscriber. After I told him how fun it was, he tried to contact Sony to see if they'd give it to him, but they weren't able to. I think he was able to get a 10% off code at least though. It couldn't hurt to ask, but it seems you already know the answer

What a great list of games though... PS+ really has been fantastic for Vita owners.... not to rub it in.

@NathanUC: Not a new member of the vita club (picked mine up around May last year), I just didn't even think to look at the games I'd missed until now! Luckily I still claimed the early big hitters like Uncharted and Gravity Rush, would've been really gutted if I'd missed those! Just a pain for me as I've had PS+ ever since they started giving away Vita games, but have missed out on a fair amount due to my own negligence!

I figured that was coming, but I really can't understand why that should be the case. One of the biggest draws of having a PS+ sub is the free games, and if you've paid your sub for a specific period of time then those games should just be added to your library by default I think. Or at the very least Sony should add them for you if you miss them.

After all, I have 100% paid for PS+ for that period, which will be on record, so surely I have a right to the PS+ subscription benefits for that period. Bit of a bummer for people if they get caught out due to problems with their ISP or something like that!

@SteveButler2210: That's why every month I lock in every game whether it's PS4, PS3, or Vita so that way if I do get a PS3 I have games to play. I do have a PS4 and PSTV.

@SteveButler2210: I agree that games should 'auto redeem', but I guess that's a less profitable business model. Most people still forget that they can redeem games from all 3 platforms if they use the website.. I've gotten a few PS4 games free since I've claimed the PS3/Vita versions.

The auto-download feature is something else I wish they'd integrate better. It would be nice if it auto-claimed/downloaded the free games to my PS4/Vita since I don't have any ISP restrictions. I think it's only done this a couple times years back on PS3....

sadly not possible - maybe there is a slight chance that PS+ owners someday get an own sort of "library" where all the former free games can be downloaded again (or maybe with a kind of huge price drop for PS+ owners on those former free games) - it may be just a dream but I think that would be great ^^

so many games - so little time

I have noticed that the free games have gone on sale quite reguarly, so there is always that.

@Tasuki: true, it's just a shame that they don't just base it on who had a valid subscription during that period. After all, we've paid our money for PS+, so we should be eligible for all benefits that were available to us during the period of our sub. Oh well, not the end of the world, just a pain as I'm making a lot of progress with my Vita backlog, so would've been good to have some of that stuff queued up!

Right here @themcnoisy https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-gb/games/jet-set-radio/ci... Pretty sure the graphics got spritzed up a bit and it has trophies too!

@SteveButler2210: I get what your saying. They kind of do I mean even if you don't have the devices you can still "buy" the games you just won't be able to download them. As I said I have a bunch of the PS3 games even though I don't own one. I actually do the same with Xbox One with their free monthly games.

@Tasuki: true, and I do that myself as well, but it is easy to forget, especially if you were to end up in a situation where you had no internet access for a while. I would understand if it was a case of limited stock, and so you had to claim them while you could, but digital downloads are an infinite commodity, so if you were eligible for it you should be able to count on that at any stage.

I'm sure they do have their reasons that I'm just not fully appreciative of, I think I'm mostly really just frustrated at myself for being a muppet and forgetting to redeem stuff! (Although I do still think that an "auto-redeem" feature would be great)

@SteveButler2210: Ha ha ha yeah I get mad at myself for stuff like that too. There are quite a few games I did miss cause I didn't know I could purchase the Vita and PS3 ones in the beginning. Kinda kicking myself now but as they say no use crying over spilled milk.

I'm new to PS Plus as well- just got my Vita in July. I still think it's worth it, even tho I've missed out on a lot of meat from the bone so to speak. The one good thing about buying the games outright tho, is that what if a year or two from now, I decide to cancel PS Plus? I don't have a PS4, so it might not be worthwhile in a year to maintain it, given how little support the system is getting. I think I have probably saved no less than $30 in purchases, then gained well over $60 in "free" games in less than three months, so it has been very much worth it to me.
