Maybe I should keep it secret that I didn't like Like a Dragon much at all when I tried it via Game Pass on my Series X. Oops....
My main issues were the fact that you'd sit there watching cinematics far more than actually doing anything. I loved Metal Gear Solid 4, which is a game that has very lengthy cinematics, but you also get plenty of lengthy gameplay sequences too. That and the fact that too much of the dialogue was just them standing their lip syncing to text on the screen. That's ok in a JRPG like Scarlet Nexus or Tales of Arise as that's the style of storytelling, but when you literally have a cinematic that is fully voiced that eventually turns into reading the rest of the scene just screams that they were being cheap rather than it being a style of storytelling.
Sorry to be a downer, but just explaining my reasoning and joining the discussion.

I'm not knew to the site per say, I'm a nintendo lifer, But I might pop in here from time to time. Hello!
(I know a few people here but so many other knew folks.)
@Indoorhero Maybe that's another reason why I gave up on Like a Dragon fairly quickly. I did like the gameplay and such, but there was just not anywhere near enough of it for me.
I won't have to worry about that in 6 days when Horizon Forbidden West comes out, or during the last 2+ chapters (I'm near the end of 14 of 16) of Guardians of the Galaxy.

@Snatcher@Anti-Matter So am I, as of this very moment, haha! Just found out these sites share accounts, so I thought I would pop in and check it out! What's up guys?
I'm a regular over at Nintendo Life, but this is my first time popping in at Push Square. I mostly play Nintendo games, but I have an affinity to PlayStation's 3D platformers of old. Love me some Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and Jak & Daxter. I've never owned a PlayStation myself, but I'm hoping to get a PS5 someday. Astro's Playroom and Sackboy look amazing! I've also really wanted to get into the Sly Cooper series. Played a little bit of the Rachet & Clank remake, but I wasn't blown away. I'd like to give it another go, though. Also really want to dip my toes into Kingdom Hearts, but all we have on Switch is the...Cloud version. **Sad noises.**
Outside of gaming, I really love animation--hence the profile pic from Gravity Falls. My favorite animated series is Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I love just about anything produced by Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network from the late 90's-mid 2000's. My real name is Aaron--probably should've lead with that, lol.
My Twitter account is in my bio, but be warned, I tweet about a lot of heavy topics including politics and religion. It can be pretty triggering, as there have been lots of heated discussion over very touchy and controversial subjects, but I try to be as respectful, patient, and open-minded as I can. I think the only way to learn is by talking things out and listening to what the other person has to say; regardless of ethnicity, political party, religion, or orientation, I just want to see people getting along in spite of our differences.
My favorite movie is "Life is Beautiful," a film directed by and starring a Jewish-Italian man named Roberto Benigni. It is a Holocaust film with an incredibly touching message about maintaining positivity even through times of insurmountable hardship. I may not be Jewish, nor have I lived through even a fraction of what victims of the Holocaust have suffered (obviously), as someone who has grappled severely with mental health, I still found the message to be incredibly powerful. Unless you speak Italian, you'll have to watch it dubbed or with subtitles as I did, but it's well worth it.
Otherwise, my favorite movies are animated, as you may have guessed. The Prince of Egypt and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are a couple that come to mind. I vastly prefer traditional 2D animation to CG. The Breadwinner is another wonderful animated film, which follows an Afghan girl trying to get by under the cruel oppression of the Taliban regime.
I am an English major, as I enjoy writing creatively. I'm currently not working, as I'm fresh out of college, and COVID has made it increasingly difficult to find employment in my small little Appalachian community. I've at least been able to take the time to work on my mental health, which has been a blessing. I've spent the past year in therapy and recently started medicating, and I've made a marked improvement.
Outside of writing, another hobby of mine is drawing. My dream is to one day work in the animation industry, or maybe to start a YouTube channel where I upload my original cartoons or make gaming-related content like reviews, let's plays, etc. Wish me luck on mustering the courage and motivation to pursue these goals! The last thing worth mentioning is that I am a Christian, and my faith is of deep importance to me. I know there are a lot of self-righteous hypocrites in the world, but I promise to strive to the best of my ability to treat everyone with love and respect, whether or not you agree with my views.
I look forward to getting to know you! Not sure how often I'll pop in here as opposed to Nintendo Life, which I check every day, but I guess we'll just have to see! Take care everybody! Much love, and God bless!
@colonelkilgore Appreciate it, man! "Nintentrovert" is a name I came up with years ago when I first decided I would like to start a YouTube channel. That was probably all the way back in 2015, if not a little earlier. I own a capture card and everything, but due to my struggles with anxiety I briefly mentioned in my initial post, I never did much with it. I uploaded a few videos, but most of them are now deleted as I got embarrassed, lol. I still love the username I came up with, though! Now that I've started taking meds and feeling more like my old self, maybe this will finally be the year I put it to good use! 🙂
@Not_Soos yeah it must be tough to have yourself exposed like that if you suffer with anxiety etc.🤞that you’re able to conquer your fears and put some content out that people enjoy. I reckon that a healthy supply of positive comments on your vids would probably really help you 👍
Hahaha! Nice to see you again! Thanks for the warm welcome! Being an English major, it's hard for me to keep my words concise, lol.
My profile pic isn't a creation of mine or anything--it's from a Disney Channel series called Gravity Falls. The character's name is Soos, and yes, he's the lovable, stupid, comic relief character. In one episode, they go incognito, so he slips on a pair of sunglasses, a beard, a trench coat, and tapes the words "Not Soos" to his head. He says, "If anyone asks...I'M NOT SOOS." It's an incredibly funny show, think Family Guy for kids but with an element of mystery and an overarching story that spans two seasons. I highly recommend watching it.
I do have some actual examples of my own artwork somewhere on my Twitter, but it's probably buried under mountains of other posts, lol. I don't think we can upload photos here directly, can we?
So I'm not really denominational, per se. I go to a church called the Church of Jesus Christ, and we strive to follow the Bible to the closest of our ability. I guess people refer to this literal interpretation of the Bible as "fundamentalism," but we don't really use this term. We also don't really believe in man-made denominations. I would not call myself a Luther, for example, because Martin Luther was just a man; we follow after Christ, so we only consider ourselves to be Christian. (Not to throw shade at those who practice a denomination or anything, this is just how we believe.)
One thing that sets us apart from other Christian groups is that we don't believe in the Trinity. If you are a Muslim, that may come as quite the shock to you. I often hear Muslims make the argument that, "How can Christians call themselves a monotheistic religion if they worship three gods?" And honestly, we agree, lol. We believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, but we do not regard them as three separate entities that make up one Godhead. Instead, we believe that they are all one in the same. To put it another way, we believe Jesus Christ is the same God the Father who crested Heaven and Earth, who took it upon himself to become flesh and blood and be born into the world as the Son, then gave his life for mankind, his creation, so we could all be saved and receive his Holy Spirit inside of us. I can elaborate in more detail and cite scriptural evidence for why we believe this way if you're interested, but it's a lot to get into, so I won't right now, lol.
Go right ahead and ask any question you have! Both the religious question, and whatever you didn't think was appropriate to ask in response to my introduction. I don't mind! I'm also perfectly fine with debates, and I think there's an important distinction to be made between debating and arguing something. To me, arguing is when a debate stops being civil and is instead fueled by anger, personal attacks, pettiness, etc. I'm not about that though, and you seem like a very respectful person, so I don't think there's any worries there!
I agree with you that discipline is greater than motivation. Perhaps I should start using different terminology moving forward. Having been in therapy, I am trying to learn to be productive even when I don't feel like it and constantly work toward my goals instead of just sitting idly by, waiting for a sudden burst of inspiration and energy. I appreciate the well wishes and hope the rest of your day is great as well!
