@robhr Season 3 is a great ride, albeit I think Season 2 was my overall favorite.

IMO, The Leftovers is one of the few multi-season shows that actually 'sticks the landing' and I personally felt the ending was incredibly well-handled and satisfying. Enjoy..!

HBO Max officially launched in Poland today. I didn't get a chance to watch anything yet but the app makes a much better first impression than the former HBO Go app and the content is all there - so far so good

@Kairu I watched literally only a couple minutes, because I want to watch it with my partner and she's been busy lately - but my first impression based on that was very good! The visual style is on point and it seems fun.

@RogerRoger did you watch the teaser trailer? I think we will need to get that Star Wars thread up and running for it, as I can see us talking about it quite a bit!

@LN78 Yep I agree. Not my idea, was brought up earlier this year when Boba Fett was on, so Rog is going to set one up when the next Star Wars media is out, which should be Kenobi!

@NedStarksGhost @LN78 @RogerRoger
You mean there isn't a dedicated SW thread on here?

I watched the Obi Wan trailer and it looks good. The music used of course was just sublime. Disney will get my cash soon no doubt!

Breezed through Bikini Warriors last week. A parody of JRPG tropes (particularly Dragon Quest), though with an extremely lewd twist (it doesn't even show a single nipple, but I'd still say it's the lewdest fan service anime I've seen in quite some time).

Still, depending on how you feel about the lewd angle, I'd say it's worth a watch for JRPG fans, especially considering all the episodes are only 4-5 minutes long (this was a new one for me, is this a thing in anime now?). I especially liked episode 3 I think it was, poking fun at how absurd it is in these games that the hero can just ransack people's homes & break their pots for money & resources.

Of course they’ve completely changed Ms Marvel’s powers for the Disney+ show. The one I was looking forward to. I get that they want to not make her an Inhuman cause of that crap TV show but do they have to give her generic energy beams and stuff? Literally she should just be like Mr Fantastic. That’s it. Imagine if they introduced Spider-Man except no, he flies and shoots lasers from his eyes.

@nessisonett Shame. She was one of the better elements of Marvel’s Avengers.

@LN78 I dunno, there’s several super soldiers, like 4 different Iron Men, 3 Spider-Men, Ant-Man and the Wasp, soon to be two Captain Marvels, 2 Hawkeyes etc. I don’t really buy that this of all things was the limit.

@RogerRoger I loved The Mighty ***** on Disney+! So much heart to it and striking a great balance with cringe as let’s face it, kids that age are incredibly cringey.

LMAO the typo I’m keeping that! Not my fault D and F are next to each other 😂😂😂😂

Watched The Five Doctors, the 20th anniversary special of Doctor Who. Well, Five is a bit of a stretch, seeing as Tom Baker didn’t really return and they used archive footage of him for a couple of scenes. It was actually alright. Incredibly messy and didn’t exactly make sense but hey, it was fun and nice to see so many old faces. The actor playing One wasn’t awful either, although that seems to be where the notion that he was a sexist stems from. David Bradley gets a bit of a pass since it was seemingly set back in 1983.

And that’s me finished the 5th Doctor’s tenure. Absolutely went out with a bang, Caves of the Androzani is possibly the best story I’ve watched across both Classic and New Who. I was beginning to be a little bit annoyed by the ‘grimdark’ influences that last season, which came to a head in the thoroughly grim Resurrection of the Daleks and I was right alongside Tegan when she was left, saying that travelling wasn’t fun anymore. Thankfully it paid off in the end. I really loved Davison in the role, he brought a warmth that was a little bit missing in Tom Baker’s last couple of seasons and both Nyssa and Tegan are some of my favourite companions. The stories were a little bit of a mixed bag but I really enjoyed a couple of the less well loved stories! Because, for whatever reason, Colin Baker’s first story was actually the last serial of series 21, I watched that as well… which was absolutely dire. I mean, ok, it was somewhat hilarious it was that bad but still a massive comedown from Caves of the Androzani. Took me forever to recognise a young Kevin McNally too. So yeah, not a great start to his oft-maligned era between the choking the companion, awful child actors and Colin Baker being laughably antagonistic.

@RogerRoger You know, now I’ve watched a couple of serials, I actually see quite a few glimpses of some really interesting ideas. They might be drowned out by other offensively terrible ideas but they’re there! I’ve got to the point where I prefer them being terrible than boring so I’ve enjoyed them more than some of Pertwee’s stories as they didn’t particularly interest me.

Well, after two seasons, Yashahime: Princess Half Demon finished up this past weekend.

It had it's moments for sure, but between the incredibly sloppy/bloated narrative, disregard to established continuity/lore, and overall a lot of narrative/character decisions I didn't care for on a personal level, I'm immensely disappointed.

Granted, I don't think I could tell you exactly what I'd want from an InuYasha sequel, but this definitely wasn't it. I don't even have the energy for a rant.

I just finished binge-watching all the new content from Marvel's on Disney Plus. Nothing much to say except it was unexpectedly entertaining. I especially recommend Hawkeye, and I would like to see where they go from here with the Mouse footing the bills now.

Still, canceling my subscription until I see more content uploaded to fill an entire weekend.
