Been listening to this song nearly everyday, since I was made aware of it, it maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but Mick Gordon is a musical genesis and has a really unique style.
I've been listening to the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 OST again over the last few days. It's genuinely incredible and, upon reflection, I wholeheartedly believe it's my favourite video game OST ever.
If you've never played it, please do, or at least give this a listen. It really is amazing.
For anyone interested: the best album of the year probably released today. Give Rosalia's LUX a listen if the words Spanish, pop and classical interest you.
@Metonymy Just out of curiosity, are you a fan of Thurston Moore's work with Sonic Youth? I know ,like me, he branched out from rock and delved into the world of free jazz, I know you're not the biggest fan of jazz, but I thought you might be curious about hearing some of his more experimental endeavours, his collaborative free jazz recordings with other people can be found on bandcamp with a little help from Google, I recommend Stovelit Lines - #5 as a good starting point, if you're interested.
For a bit of context, here's an interview you might like to read, where he discusses his move from rock to the jazz world.
"Preoccupied with a single leaf, you won’t see the tree. Preoccupied with a single tree, you’ll miss the entire forest. Don't be preoccupied with a single spot. See everything in its entirety...effortlessly. That is what it means...to truly "see." "
@Metonymy Let me know what you think. There's another album on bandcamp that might be a better place to start with. It's called 'Disarm' and is just him and a drummer, so a little more 'raw'-sounding.

Below is the main theme of a PS4 game I'm playing right now called Super Neptunia RPG. Super peaceful and chill vibes 🥰.

My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
@Metonymy In terms of my relentless quest to get you 'into' jazz, 😂I thought I'd try a different tactic! Here is an excellent METAL band, very respected progressive death metal album, the guitarist of which had some jazz lessons before getting into metal, as I say it is 100% METAL, but if you especially like the guitar solos, I can make further recommendations. Anyway, hope you enjoy, should be more your cup of tea than some of my other recommendations.
Edit: Just thought I'd mention, as I know you're a fan of the genre and I thought it is interesting to see how these different styles intersect even if the end product doesn't sound like it has anything to do with certain aspects of one genre or the other, in terms of the material's genesis.

I have been a long time fan of D'Angelo, so when i saw the news that he had passed away of cancer, i was so sad. His first record Brown sugar is one of my all time favourite albums. Incidentally D'Angelo loved Red Dead Redemption and after playing RDR2 he wanted to make a song to RDR2. This song is a banger in every way possible. So this one is for you D'Angelo. The best song ever written for a video game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0AykH20X3Q
@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN Haha thanks! My taste in music is fairly eclectic, I’ll listen to anything but something just either resonates with me or it doesn’t. I’ll add it to the list and can let you know my thoughts when I’ve processed them. Cheers!

@FuriousMachine Yeah, that song is just perfectly placed in a perfect game. The lyrics paints Arthur Morgan and his struggles in the world. I dont know but that song just upps the game experience and the idea that is Arthur Morgan and his destiny. It was hard to finish the game to be honest
Been listening to a lot of this artiste lately. This is probably his most well-known album.

@Kairuuu Just listened to the tracks on the EP/single "Left for Good" on Spotify, and this is definitely in my wheelhouse, so much so that I've added them to my "New s#!t" playlist which I use to familiarise myself with bands I find intriguing.
The heavy riffs brings to mind Spiritbox and Sordid Pink/Destiny Potato (same band releasing under different names as the mood takes them... though way too rarely).

I came here wondering if there are any metal heads on here who's heard Alissa White-Gluz' first solo outing since she, quite abruptly, announced her split from Arch Enemy this weekend.
I never gelled with Arch Enemy, but her solo single really hit the spot for me. Interested to see how her solo album shapes up.
