Black Sabbath were very important to me in my musically formative years. RIP Ozzy ,indeed.

@RogueCooper Thank you, man, I am very much a jazz and hip hop guy ,rather than a reggae or soka guy, so it isn't exactly what I usually go for, but he has a nice voice, and the melodies are nice. My mother, however, is very much into this type of music, so I will pass along the recommendation.

For those interested in the notorious free improvisation guitarist, Derek Bailey, RIP.
This and the self-titled album from Argia mark Tara Cunningham as the literal successor to his throne in terms of guitar style and assorted musical shenannigans, she has a lot of other work too, but on those two albums her work is the most reminiscent of his style.
Edit: I also realised that in jazz, the guitar isn't exactly up-front right and center, it's more compartmentalised, and to be a jazz guitarist, you have to realise you're not gonna be the star of the show in a band, if it features horns as well, you're more the co-star or in the secondary lead-type position, contributing to the organic sound of the whole, and essentially limited by playing that free jazz/free improvisation/experimental type stuff on you're own, of course the sound can expand in a lineup with two guitars, a bassist and a drummer of course, but that kind of set up is quite rare to find in jazz. Anyway.... just my 'two cents..
Free Jazz/Free Improvisation Music that's horn-focused, such as this, is definitely allowed though! 😂

I went to see the aforementioned Tara Cunningham tonight, fantastic gig, absolutely amazing guitar-work. Loved the set, The gig was organised as an event focused around launching her new EP. which I have shared below.

Further to what I was saying before, the time of listening to jazz guitarists for inspiration and ideas is gone now, I feel like I have already a perfected and whole completed style on the electric guitar, in terms of my own chosen path/genre of music, i.e free improvisation and can now almost solely listen to hip hop.
With that in mind, here's what I was listening to this morning. Dope album.
I may even record again now. That is ,if it is in God's will, of course.
I may even follow in Mark Lettieri's foosteps and quote Page, Gilmour & Oldfield in my jazz guitar solos! (He quotes Van Halen, apparently.)
'Sekiro Shura Suite' Impending, Perhaps.

Hey all, I hope you're all well. I know I said I was going to share my album here when it was finished but I never got around to it and because I'm becoming more self conscious as time goes by, I thought I'd just release my tracks as is, just in case I end up changing my mind and not releasing anything at all. It is for sale but you can stream it a few times for free and I mainly wanted to share it with everyone because of all the posts I made a few years ago about what I wanted to do with my life and blah blah blah, this is something that I ended up doing lol. It's proper rough around the edges but whatyagonado.

@AgentCooper Further to what we were saying before, about the legend that was and always will be, Brent Hinds, as part of further paying my respects to him, I've decided to share the link to this album, which he apparently wrote most if not all of, according to interviews he gave, which should still be available on the internet somewhere, as a tribute to Brent. Are you familiar with the record? If not, I highly recommend giving it a spin. I met him once, outside my University Campus (I won't say which one) while they were on tour over here. He signed my assignment for me! Haha.

@Metonymy Who have you been listening to recently? And which albums would you recommend by them? I don't know if you have ever heard Frank Zappa, think I asked you before but I forget what you said, outside of that you'd be willing to give anything a listen to try out, sort of thing. But anyway, he is a great musician and his stuff kind of sits in it's own universe, experimental, jazz, rock, prog, orchestral stuff, it all goes into the melting pot on different albums, and some albums contain elements of multiple genres.
Comedic lyrics are a big thing for him too, I know that The Aristocrats, who you said you enjoyed, dig him, probably more for his compositions and wild rock guitar soloing style.
As a starting point, the album above is probably one I would recommend as his best/a personal favourite, either that or this one, below, which is slightly heavier and more rock-orientated overall, and might be a better starting point, given your tastes.

@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN Yeah, Frank Zappa is great, though I’ve never dove too deep into his discography. Still listen to The Aristocrats too 😄
I haven’t been listening to much that would be to your tastes but most recently I’ve been really enjoying the latest releases from Thrice, AFI, Ghost and Halestorm (Lzzy Hale is a beast on this record). The Smashing Pumpkins’ Aghori Mhori Mei and Project 86’s underrated masterpiece Omni Part 1 and 2 haven’t left the rotation in some time either.

@Metonymy Yes, I remember back from my rock n' roll days that Lizzy Hale certainly has quite the pair of lungs on her hasn't she? I particularly liked the song 'I Get Off' do you know that one? It had regular rotation on the rock n' roll stations I used to listen to on my TV. I think listening to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, with regard to another of the acts you mentioned, in it's entirety, was my way of letting go and saying a final farewell to my rock and heavy metal years. It felt very cathartic to listen to.
