@Yousef- Hey. How are you and your old man? Well, I hope. Anyway I just wanted to ask your opinion with regard to a few Ye albums. Would you agree that Late Registration is more commercially-accessible than Graduation and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy are?

All the best.

Edit: Also, what is your favourite Ye album of all time?

Yousef-

@BlAcK_SwOrDsMaN thank you. All going great.
I can’t comment right now on that, I’ll have to do a little research but the other two albums like Graduation is incredibly accessible to me and I have it downloaded whenever we need to go on a trip.

Normally, I’d let my nostalgia speak and say that because of GTA IV being my favorite game of all time, exposing me to so much music, that Flashing Lights is my favorite Ye track ever and as such, I’d go with Graduation.

But on a more honest and personal note, my REAL answer would surprise you; it’s 808 & Heartbreak.

All the best.

EDIT: I’ve looked into your question and concluded and I may not be a reliable source, as every album you mentioned seems readily available here in my country Kuwait. I haven’t checked Apple Music, but I still seem to have easy access to all of them so I’m not quite sure how someone who has lesser access would feel.

@Yousef- By commercially-accessible I simply meant more 'mainstream' interms of having more of a 'pop' sound, rather than being more available to the 'masses' sorry for any misunderstanding.

@BlAcK_SwOrDsMaN ahhhhh, makes sense!

From my experience, Graduation still generates a decent amount of buzz. But mostly from people outside the community, the other albums seem decently popular though.

I've been listening to a lot of Mike Walker (British Jazz Guitarist, prolific as sideman, seldom as bandleader) and Benny the Butcher (hip hop artist) recently, they feed me in different ways, but both fall under the 'Urban' music category's broad brushstroke I feel.

Really looking forward to the new Eminem album tomorrow. Will be straight down HMV to buy the CD unless I can find a random copy somewhere today that has broken the street date.

Recently just been listening to the 3 most recent QOTSA albums in the car. So good.

Muse 2nd Law and Queen Greatest Hits have been my go to running albums but I've loaded up QOTSA's Villains on my phone to run to today.

The other 3 CD slots in my car have been taken up by a rotation of The Streets' Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living and The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light as well as Taylor Swift's Red and 1989. More recently I've added RHCP's Californication.

@ralphdibny I quite like Eminem, haven't listened to him in a while though - I'll be sure to check out his new album. I am really big on Aesop Rock, if you like hip hop check him out, perhaps his newest album Intergrated Tech Solutions.

@kyleforrester87 ooo I'll check out Aesop Rock on YouTube then! Cheers for the reccy

Eminems had a few up and downs but even as I get older I find myself relating to and appreciating his later albums a bit more than when they first came out. I used to dislike Recovery for being a bit too poppy but it's heavily in my CD rotation now! I am sure I'll come to appreciate his more technical albums as the years go by too.

I'm hoping (and it seems to be advertised) that the new CD will be an MMLP2 level old school fan service album. The first single seemed to indicate it would be, the second single, umm not so much 😅 even though it has a good beat. But a 50% hit rate still has me hopeful 😂

kyleforrester87

@ralphdibny Yeah I often think I have outgrown Eminem but when I listen to him I always seem to like him. I came to him a bit later than most, generally. Agreed in particular with Recovery, it's an album I would almost like to say I dislike but I really don't.. lol.

@Yousef- @kyleforrester87 @ralphdibny I noticed people discussing hip hop on here so I would like to share my favourite hip hop artist with you. Criminally underrated imo.

Fantastic pick. Will listen while on the road as per usual.
I agree with what’s said about Eminem. I also never find myself outgrowing him. Particularly the “slim shady” era.

A more hip hop influenced project by Richard D. James aka Aphex Twin. It's like 10 years old at this point, so some of you may already be familiar.

@Yousef- Glad you liked it. I know you listed some of your favourites before, but who are really in your top 5 for hip hop artists? I like

Freddie Gibbs
Benny the Butcher
Ransom
Guilty Simpson
Boldy James

(for mine).

Carl Stone’s “Mom’s” is a record that makes me want to claw my eyes out in a good way. My brain feels itchy after it just because it’s a sorta experimental electroacoustic deal. Pretty indescribable to be honest, each track is distinct but I’ll drop in Shing Kee. Don’t be afraid to cut through it to get to the gist of what’s being done here, it’s 15 minutes but you’ll absolutely understand why my brain wants someone to go in and stimulate it directly with a f***ing taser. Impressive in that respect and I really do think it’s great, just sort of also a method of torture. The fact it’s from ‘86 is wild too.

@nessisonett Listened to some of it, cutting through it to get the gist, as you recommended. I liked it and It reminded me somewhat of Eno's ambient works. Are you familiar with them/do you like those too?

Thanks for sharing.
