@Yousef- Ah yes I am very familiar with Count Basie as I believe he ,together with his orchestra were in a famous movie. Nothing against heavy metal, used to love it, but as I say, I don't listen to it any more ,love any jazz that draws from heavy metal in the right and proper way tho.

@Yousef- That's great jazz, (The Roy Ayers recommendation - loving the album, got it on right now) sister, and I don't want yuou to go to any trouble to find albums for me! but to be fair when I was saying "jazz that draws from heavy metal" I meant more like stuff along the lines of the link below - that is proper heavy metal-influenced jazz!

Oh haha don’t worry about it! Was just grabbing stuff from my backlog. I’ve listened to plenty of stuff from multiple genres, including lots of soul. It’s easy for me to grab stuff from my backlog based on any particular genre and share it with others. Jazz felt like a fun way to challenge my musical knowledge since I listen to it more sporadically.

@Yousef- Ooh, jazz! Jazz isn’t my most listened to song genre, but I have listened to a few jazz songs and really like them. I’ve also listened to different genres of it too.

@Pastellioli why hello there! Thanks for chiming in in our jazz/hip-hop discourse! Yeah it’s a core genre I like, and can still dig back into my backlog one extra time for another rec if asked on command.

@Yousef- You can give me recommendations if you’d like!
I have listened to kikkaikettai (Electro Swing Remix), which is, as the title says, an electro swing jazz remix of a Japanese song. I also listened to Posin by Glenn Gatsby and Educated Feet by Swingrowers. A lot of these are electro swing and involve electronic elements, and I like them a lot.

@Yousef- Moving the discourse back to hip hop. What do you think of Ice Cube's 'Raw Footage' album? (If you've heard it - you mentioned being a fan of his stuff)

@BlAcK_SwOrDsMaN I totally adore it! Lots of deep and thought provoking messages! A great insight into Ice as an individual! Hood Mentality and Why Me? are great tracks!
I was first exposed to it thanks to Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It playing in Midnight Club: LA. Such a classic.
@Yousef- Nice song! Thanks for the rec! Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It is the song that exposed me to the album as well, a friend played it to me and I went on to listen to the rest of the album for myself, I personally prefer his later stuff to his earlier work, idk about you, maybe you love it all? 🤣

@Yousef- Me too. Doggystyle is a classic record. Freddie Gibbs, Ransom & Benny the Butcher are my top three hip hop artists, though. There are a lot of Guilty Simpson records I love listening to on Spotify as well.
Edit: With Ransom taking the #1 spot on that list.

@BlAcK_SwOrDsMaN I would like to share my artists recs, I’m a little tired at the moment so instead I wanna post a really good heavy metal song I found while playing a mod of dbz budokai 3. It’s an incredible song and one that spoke to me. Some deep and thought provoking messages that still hold true today. It’s so incredibly catchy I winded up remembering most of the lyrics after a few listens. Almost like an anthem.
EDIT: (If the link is broken for some reason, I’ll try grabbing the Spotify link instead)
@Yousef- It's not the sort of thing I listen to, but thanks for sharing nevertheless.

@Yousef- I love Gang Starr! Not sure if I'm familiar with that one though, just finishing off another hip hop album atm but I'll check it out directly after that. Moment Of Truth is my favourite Gang Starr record, and I also think Guru's 'Jazzamatazz' series is amazing.
Edit: Yeah, just listening to it now. Good messages in the music like "always responding to fan mail" and so on. I like it. I'll have to add the rest of the album to my library.
What are you playing on PlayStation these days anyway? Feel free to respond in the 'What PS5 Games Are You Currently Playing?' Thread or the PS4/PS3 etc. versions of that thread if you are on a different platform right now.
I'm taking a break after completing Rise of the Ronin, which was excellent, but aim to play RE2 REmake next.

@BlAcK_SwOrDsMaN awesome, and yeah I do game from time to time when my life and hospital job allows it. I’m on the road a lot due to my lifestyle and really value sleeping early and waking up early so I can’t find many good opportunities to game outside the weekend, despite the fact I’ve never once gotten bored or tired of gaming!
Right now for example me and my old man are on a road trip from Kuwait to Saudi Arabia. I’m driving so I’ll have my eyes on the road a lot. It’s gonna be a short trip so it won’t be long before I’m back to Kuwait. Sunday’s gonna be the new year for the Hijri Calendar (Muslim calendar).
But when I do sit down and wind, my options are near limitless! Big hardware collector! But the games I typically default to are Grand Theft Auto IV and Warriors Orochi 3. Though I’ve also had my eyes recently on Ratchet and Clank ps2 trilogy.
