So, turns out my ancient GPU from 2015 is enough to run Forspoken. At least, the demo version. Kinda.

I was surprised how well the game run. Certainly the framerate is likely all over the place, but it was smooth enough that I had no issues with combat/exploration/etc., aside from just not liking the mechanics involved with combat one bit.

The catch? The game sorta looked like a PS3 demake. Good lord were there some hideous assets! And a general blurriness to everything.

But it ran.

@MightyDemon82 I'm not gonna insist that the stuff you're reading is fake without evidence. What I will say is that there were already "reports" of schools putting out litter boxes for students who identified as cats months ago in the U.S., and it turned out to be some bogus right-wing moral panic over nothing.

When you're reading an outrageous claim online, consider the source.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if every school has at least one furry-inclined student who wants to freak people out, either.

@Ralizah There’s about a 99% chance that the story’s fake and even if it’s true, the kids are winding people up. Teenagers are much more clued into the world than people give them credit for, and they consistently use that to wind up authority figures.

@kyleforrester87 You must have done something really bad with that mouth of yours.

@kyleforrester87 It’s from SaGa Frontier 2 but Hamauzu’s music does tend to sound quite similar. Definitely sounds like something that would pop up in his half of the FFX soundtrack.

@kyleforrester87 It’s possible that he reused the melody in another game but I’m not sure which one to be honest!

There’s @kyleforrester87 chewing on his DualSense again. Maybe you can sue Sony for lack of a warning label —
“Caution, chewing on your controller may cause mouth ulcers.”

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

@kyleforrester87 This was in the youtube description you linked, is the answer you're looking for?

@Jaz007 I couldn’t see the description on the phone app for some reason, but yes Ness pointed that out. Doesn’t seem like I have heard it there though, so I don’t know!

@Thrillho That would be really confusing when I'm having one of my 'Am I in the game?' moments when walking around.

Looks like my mum’s being made redundant. 10 years at Paperchase and it’s gone under today with Tesco buying up the IP but not the shops. High streets are pretty much dead throughout the country though, there’s more units than businesses to fill them.

@LN78 I think she’d prefer that to call centre work to be honest, she’s done both but hospitality’s slightly more tolerable. Cheers for the kind words though, same to @RogerRoger.

@nessisonett Redundancy is the worst as it’s so out of your hands but there is certainly plenty of work out there at the moment.

I’m really lucky that the town I live in has a really good high street which is mostly independent shops. I have no idea how such a small town manages to sustain having three butchers within 100m of each other though
