@SteveButler2210: 100% correct my friend, though I prefer to call it Legend of the Overfiend because I'm buggered if I ever try to pronounce Urotsukidoji . I can't remember what scene it was that made me sick but I do know the feeling of seeing something unexpected and truly graphic really caught me off guard.
@themcnoisy That sounded terrible mate, I was really lucky growing up. My parents had good enough wages to buy Sky TV (mainly for football), I didn't know about C4, my introduction to anime was through Sci-Fi.

Macross plus the movie has arrived - the box looks fake, but I don't think it is as the disc looks real and I don't think someone could fraud that easily.

Were the manga force cases and inserts quite cheap back in the day?

@themcnoisy: couldn't tell you for certain. Manga Force was an anime magazine that ran in the UK for a few years and came with a new DVD every fortnight. As such, I could imagine they weren't great quality as they would have been churned out on the cheap to give away with the magazine! Funny really, as it was run by Manga Entertainment, who publish loads of anime at a decent quality. I guess for the magazine they would've just been looking to keep costs as low as possible. Either way I'd say it's probably legit.

So I've started watching Naruto and have finished 21 episodes. It's pretty good. I've just gotten to the part the Chuni (or whatever) exams start. Before that, on the bridge, when the demon ninja killed Gato (the evil business guy trying to stop the bridge from being built), it was the most epic villain to villain speech ever. "We're going to hell, I hear there are demons of all shapes and sizes there, I'll fit right in, but you on the other hand, are gonna be in for a long journey of pain and suffering" then he kills him with a kunai in his mouth sending off the bride. So freakin awesome. I do have a few problems with the show though. It's too slow. They take too long to do things. It really would be better if it was 20-33% shorter. My other problem is that they made Naruto too stupid. A lot of times it feels like he's only dumb because they're trying to be funny, but are just frustrating instead. I hope he gets smarter as the series goes on. He needs to if he ever hopes to be Hokage, as the position requires wisdom and intelligence in addition to strength.

@Jaz007: Yeah, I only ever got I think 2 series in, enjoyed it and do intend to go back and watch it fully, but I don't have the time for that right now (he says, whilst re-watching FMA Brotherhood). But that battle on the bridge is actually one of my favourite parts in any series. I'm sure I've seen better stuff since, but I was quite a bit younger when I watched that so I guess it just left an impression! Also Zabusa is an absolute boss.

I don't think I have ever dedicated as much time to a tv program. Outstanding series.

@themcnoisy: Good stuff! There are some awesome fights over the last quarter or so of the series (some of which you'll have already seen) have you got the last set of DVDs ordered?

@SteveButler2210: No the last episode (52- 64 I think) cost £10 where as the other 4 DVDs (2 DVDs in each case) cost £5. The conning gits. I was gonna wait until after the summer hols to save myself some money. But I may have to stump up soon

I never won that porco dvd either. Bad times on Ebay.

@themcnoisy: Those are great prices though compared to the £10-20 you'd pay for each volume on Amazon! Oh well, there will be other auctions

What was Macross Plus like? I've never really looked into the Macross series. I sometimes struggle to get into mecha series, so I tend to stay away from them. Really need to get round to watching Neon Genesis Evangelion sometime soon though, as that's supposed to be another one of the all time greats.

@SteveButler2210: Watched about half hour, old school animation style but a good set up top gun style with an ace pilot whos cocky. Just put it back on to watch another hour as I'm off work for the next two days yay.

@themcnoisy: Cool, let us know the verdict once you've finished it. Nice, that for anything in particular or time off for the sake of time off? I've got all of next week booked off. Never booked time off for a game before, but I figured Kojima coming full circle with Metal Gear and wrapping up a plot that has been on the go for nearly 30 years was a bit of a special occasion!

@SteveButler2210: Bank holiday selling cars so I'm in Saturday - Monday. I've never took time off for a game either, but I have thrown a sickie in my younger years to play a game. Something in not likely to do again..... MGS is out next week right? Hmmmmmm. I do feel a sore throat coming on. Lol.

Hey guys if you live in the UK it might interest you to know that Crunchyroll is now available on PS4. I don't know if this extends to PS3 or other EU territories but thought I'd give you a heads up.

@adf86: What's crunchyroll? If its to do with anime I'm in!!!

@themcnoisy: It's basically Netflix for animes, it's been popular in America for a good while but now it's come Europe and further afield.

@themcnoisy: It's subs only though (save for about 7 animes), so I wouldn't recommend subscribing. It's do the occasional anime if you watch it for free though. Not sure if you can use it on PS4 with a free account though.

@Jaz007: @adf86: Wow awesome after you told us about crunchyroll Its on the ps4 and the Vita!!!! Wow. I have a paid account and don't mind paying again. How much is it a month? Great news either way. Still getting a dvd and bluray collection together. @get2sammyb @ShogunRok might be worth reporting this good news for all anime fans

@themcnoisy: It'll more likely get supported due to it been released in so many countries, so I expect to see much more shows added.
