Yeah thats is the main thing you'll notice thats not as good compared to Steam/Live. Ive gotten used to it tho and I dont think its too bad. I downloaded n installed a 2 1/2GB patch for Dust514 the other day n it only took 20 minutes. Thats faster than the PSN used to be when I first started using it lol Steam is the same with big patches but its offset by really good speeds. Live on the other hand is a little odd. Microsoft actually have a size limit on patches, which is why they always seem so quick. Sure the patch zips, but it deos make you wonder just how much its doing when its only about 5MB lol I remember Battlefield 3 on 360 actually had to have its patches released as DLC just so they could release the same changes as Ps3 in a nice hefty 1GB+ file. Its something to get used to. If you have PS+ you can use automatic updating and set your Ps3 to automatically turn on at a set time and download patches etc while your asleep or at work. Its worth looking in to if the download speeds are bothersome

Yeah. Ofcourse, I just got my PS3 so I am DL'ing / Patching / Installing alot more than the regular PS3 gamer. Although its tedious on the flip side its awesome, because its FREE
It was a good experience setting my PS up and instantly enjoying some online action, subscription free.

Xbox 360's on the other hand, are useless without gold. I could only play trials of my arcade games because I was silver !!!!

Welcome Beaston61! If you need more PSN friends feel free to add me. I live in the US and I wouldn't mind making friends all over the world. My PSN ID is tgraves82. I would definitely play the Last of Us and Journey. I just finished Journey and it was a short game but it's all about the experience. I am currently playing the Last of Us and is it one of the best games on the PS3.

Beaston,

Just read somewhere that the online portions of both white knight games are shut down as of June. In reading reviews, I read that the online component is the best part. So be careful with a purchase on those games!

Well as some of you may know, I finished inFamous 1.
I thought the game as a whole was good, although some parts were a little repetative, side quests, shards etc... I just wanted to get my teeth into the story, which imo was the awesome, the ending was a really good twist. I have inFamous 2 and Carnival of blood, I guess 2 is next right?

At the moment though, I am playing through Killzone 2... let me tell you, it far surpassed my expectations, I thhoght an old FPS, the Graphics will suck and the shooting physics will be poo etc... I expected it to feel dated. Wow! was I wrong, the cinematics/Graphics surprised me, the atmosphere of the game (auido aswell) is immersive, that coupled with the destructive environment makes the game seem realisticly horrific ! EEEK!!!!
I am playing it through on Elite and this game offers a good challenge, the battlezones are big enough to allow different stratagies & vantage points. Honestly, every battle seems like a struggle to survive against the stronger Helghast. Really enjoying this game, of course I'm rambling and you guys are like "man, this guy is getting excited by a game that I played years ago" - But seriously, it is one of the best FPS games I have played in years, I am now looking forward to KZ on PS4.

I tried to access the online part of KZ2 and it disconnected me, are the servers closed now?

Killzone 2 was the reason I bought a Ps3. It was mind blowing back then. Ive been seeing it lately dirt cheap, usually around the £4 mark. Ive been tempted quite a bit. Im not sure about the online. I last checked about a year ago n it was still up then n Ive seen no news anywhere regarding server closure. It was pretty popular still when I was last on it too. Maybe it was just server maintenance? Best to try again sometime

Thanks Rev.

Madchester - I got Killzone 2 for £1.75! Plus £1 postage !!!!
I couldn't resist an offer like that. It is the original disc/case aswell.

An update on the on-line functions - Yes, they still run servers (only 2 last night) but I was able to get online and have some MP action.
