Hello everyone,

I have been visiting the site for my Sony news updates for awhile and lurking the forums, now I decided I want to get in on the Forum discussions but thought it would be rude not to introduce myself: D

I am no one of importance, an avid gamer like many others here. I am predominantly a PC gamer But PC gaming can be a little lonely, there is something awesome and nostalgic about inviting friends over, kicking back on the couch and having a gaming session. - Also, Console seems to be where all the game devs focus is (it has been for along time).

I always tend to have a console, for ages I have had the XBOX 360, which just collected dust.... and following the shocking E3 announcements and their complete lack of customer care, I thought... screw you M$, you will not be getting anymore of my money - for consoles at least I dont care how hard they try to remedy it by doing "180's", I'm Done!

On the other Sony at E3 were awesome (and unusually entertaining: D) since E3, I have alot of love for Sony, I now find myself rooting for them! They just seem to of done everything right (this time at least, they learnt the hard way)

I will definitely be getting a PS4, but not on release date, instead I decided to get hold of a PS3 and PS Vita then get a PS4 next year. Fun times ahead, cant wait to play next gen Watch Dogs and Tom Clancys: Division - not to mention FF15 !!

There are so many games I missed not owning a PS3, - HEAVY RAIN for example, I wanted to play that game since its announcement.

I better stop....
TL:DR - MS Suck, I have a new found love for Sony, fun times ahead, see you in the forums.

Hello there!

Also I had a similar situation where I was an Xbox fan that moved to PS3.

To be honest I don't know why I didn't do it earlier.

Thanks Guys. BTW I am from UK, is their many europeans in the house?

Yeah Cirno, M$ are now in the write-off list with the following;
• EA
• Blizzard
• Intel

I am well impressed with PS+, the games Sony give away are awesome! Lets hope they will put Persona 4 on the list (doubtful?). I convinced my friend to get a PS3, so he is out getting one ATM. So I will have at least one online buddy! Anybody know what Dragon's Dogmas multiplayer features are like?

Does anyone know if Heavy Rain will ever be realeased for purchase on the PS Store in Europe?

Is there any Sony exclusives (besides Infamous) that I should check out? I have not been to in-touch with the PS world until recently, I dont want to overlook a gem.

so many questions so little time ^^

Welcome to the site! Theres quite a few Europeans on Pushsquare, Im from the UK myself

Almost all Ps3 exclusives are worth checking out, most can be found pretty cheap nowadays preowned. Theres a huge breadth of gameplay genre's with Sony's exclusives so your guarunteed to find at least a few games to enjoy. To name just one to start you with -
Ratchet & Clank: A crack in time - Personally one of my favourite games this generation.
To be honest tho Im a big JRPG fan, so I tend to play those a lot, and the Ps3 has a lot of those in europe that are exclusive, with more on the way too. Plus with the Ps3 being region free, any not released here can be imported If you are interested in JRPG's, you wont be disapointed

I will check Ratchet & Clank out, I think I might of played the original on the PS2 ages ago.

I purchased the Infamous collection from the Store, so will check them out.
I have always been intrigued by God of War, I know it's quite a popular sony exclusive, is it worth/necessary to start from the first one and work my way through them?

I did not know that the PS3 was region free, thats awesome to know, thanks man ^_^ It's just a shame that some games are in the US store but not in the EU store, for example I would love to play SOS: the final escape and Shadow of Memories which are only available overseas according to my cousin (who speaks fluent Japanese) you can make a new account and set your store to be the JP or US and buy their content?

Oh man, definitely get GOW 1&2 HD then prepare your eyes for the feast that is GOW3

@SuperSilverback Its a good job you mentioned that Id forgot about the HD collection :/ lol

There is 2 GOW HD collections tho so make sure you pick up the right one, n yeah, prepare yourself for graphical feast with the third installment. Still an incredible game technically even now. GOW Ascension looks even better, but thats more of a prequel that may be best playing last. or first. Im not sure lol Theres also Dante's Inferno if you looking for something similar. I absaloutly loved that game, but its also on 360 so you may have played it before...

You can set up a US or JAP account n sign into thier respective stores on an EU Ps3. Theres multiple guides online detailing how to comeplete the process and subsequent PSN wallet vouchers can be purchased at numerous online retailers. I haven't done it myself as I tend to just import physical copies from JApan (oddly enough only takes a few days to arrive lol)

It's settled then.
In the last 10 mins, I potentially have the following games to play on my PS3;
• GOW 1,2,3 (will buy for sure)
• Uncharted (tentative)
• Heavy Rain (will buy for sure)
• Ratchet & Clank (someone dubbed it game of the PS3 Generation, which means its definitely worth a look)
• Ni No Kuni (will buy for sure)
• GTA V (when it's released, looks too good to miss TBH)

Seems like I will be buying a PS4 in 2015 then I saw an article a while back about reasons not to buy a PS4 right away. Well... I have many reasons above

If your really interested in Heavy Rain, you may be interested to know that Beyond : Two Souls by the same developer is due out in October I think. Also, I do have one other recommendation. Resistance 3. One of the best shooters in single player Ive played with a really good story n an atmosphere that rivals the likes of Metro 2033 (plus some nice 3D) Ranks alongside A crack in Time as Insomniacs best work. Theres way too many games for you to try to even be thinking of a Ps4 in 2015 lol

Does resistance 3 feel like the PS Vita installment, because I own that game and TBH, I am not overly impressed.

Beyond: Two Souls, yes, this game oozes epic win. I have my eye's on this one.

The Vita one was outsourced by Sony so it wasn't done by Insomniac, it was developed by Nihilistic Software. Resistance 3 is of a completely different standard. Burning Skies has its moments, but its not even in the same league as Resistance 3

@Beaston61:  Welcome its nice to meet you.  I am in a similar situation like yours.  I am returning to Sony after owning a Xbox 360.  While I owned the PS and PS2 (The PS2 is my second favorite system of all time right behind Super Nintendo) I went the MS route during the PS3 era.  As much as it pains me I just couldn't justify paying the higher price for a PS3 when all the games that I wanted to play also came out on 360.  Still it will be nice to be back with Sony this gen.

Anyway I am rambling now cause I am buzzed so um yeah welcome to the site.

Thanks for the welcome guys
Since I got my PS3 three days ago - my PC hasn't even been switched on I am usually a competetive DOTA / HoN player...

I DL'd the Ni No Kuni demo last night. Awesome game!

Do the new PS+ Instant Games change at the start of every month? Because I sometimes I hesitat buying games, in case they feature in the PS+ I/G.

Yeah Sony tend to switch out a few games each month. The new titles are always posted onto the Playstation Blog before the switch is done, so you always know in advance whats coming. A little tip is to start the download of each game every month n then cancel the download. The game will be available at all times in your download list (as long as your subscribed to PS+) for you to try at a later time or to redownload when you wanna play again. I did the same thing with Vita titles for a few months so I had a few games to play as soon as I got a Vita bout a month ago.

AWESOME! Thats a useful tip. I will start preloading my account full of games now then

As much as I am loving the PS3 at the moment... one thing that is a bit annoying about the current PS service is downloads are slow, installing is slow and game patches are slow. I mean it is a free service so one can't complain, but when you are use to downloading games at 7.6 MBPS and an almost instant install... it somethin that you notice a lot more.
