Hello, one of my friend told me that if you use a VPN while gaming you can change your server to another country that helps us to reduce the queue time if the server is from an active country also it helps us to reduce the ping if we access the right server with VPN, I am curious to know, is it really works? as I have recently found that a VPN service called PureVPN is offering a 5-year subscription for $99 also many other VPN services are offering a good discount on Halloween so that's why I am planning to buy it, what you guys recommend should I go for VPN for gaming?

@philip_austin Not for me as I hear they can be unreliable and a bit unstable for gaming.

We are now in a world of people being offended for other people who they think should be offended, who arent offended.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Why it makes gaming unreliable and unstable?

@philip_austin Using a VPN means adding another layer between you and the outside world. Unfortunately, that means extra latency. My mate in work said he was frequently getting booted from servers when playing stuff like CoD as well.

Makes no sense to use a VPN for gaming. Use it to access video services in other countries or if your in a country that resticts access to the internet use it. it will always slow your connection

Thanks all for suggestions I have purchased PureVPN to test the latency and experience vpn with gaming by myself, as they are offering the same 5 years plan for $79 on cybermonday so I m giving it a try for gaming. If it affects the latency than I will use it for just port forwarding.
