Topic: Disc drive noise and game not starting?

My copy of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy came today so I put game in to give it time to install and went outside. My wife then comes and tells me it's making weird noises. The disc drive sounds like it's starting and stopping over and over really fast. I took the game out and let the console rest for a bit. It's been a few hours and now I gave it another try. Same thing. I started the game up and it just sits at the launch screen or whatever (shows Chloe and Nadine) and keeps making the noises? The disc isn't scratched or dirty and it doesn't do it if I put another game in...soo..? Any ideas?

Well if it doesn't do it with any other game it's probably the disc. There might be something wrong that the naked eye can't see and it's just a faulty disc. Take it back to the store and get another copy.

Well now it's still be obnoxiously loud, but after starting up the game again it made it past the launch screen. It cycled thru those detailed screenshots of characters for the loading screen then went black. Then after a couple minutes it showed the Sony screen and then Naughty Dog. After it sat black again I closed it and restarted. It eventually got to the main menu...but still super loud. It's NEVER this loud while installing. How can I tell if it's fully installed? So I know if IS the installing noise or just the disc not running right.

I messaged Amazon about it and they already submitted the order for another one to be shipped to me. So another copy should be here tomorrow. Hopefully this problem won't happen again!

@KratosMD Nope. I had been playing Nier: Automata and then took the disc out and put in Uncharted. It started making all the weird noises and when I put Nier back in it was back to being normal sounding. Then sounds weird again when I put Uncharted back in again.

sounds like the problem is with the disc, i would take it back and get a refund, then buy the digital version

@FullbringIchigo Amazon is sending another copy for free and then I have to return my original copy before a certain date. It was also 20% off with Prime so I got a better deal with that. 😏

Update: My replacement disc has come and it's as quiet as all my other games. So definitely a faulty disc. Now I can finally play!
