@RogerRoger Sorry man, missed this and hope you are doing well! Good luck.
@Gremio108 It gets easier with the kids once they get used to it. We have done Skype with their friends and that uses up an hour or so a day! We also do an hour of technology a day and then to try and do stuff or play in garden.
@Ralizah Best of luck with your ma and her hospital trip. My dad is in a similar situation.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
Day One of isolation. Following a fraught morning involving the kids arguing, we managed to settle into a groove. I ventured to the shop and bought a loaf of bread for my elderly neighbours. It was going okay.
Then, while we were making dinner/tea (Delete as appropriate) my wife came into the room saying "Help, I think I'm on fire!" She turned around and, lo and behold, she was very much on fire. The kids start screaming and she's now running around the place like a Dark Souls boss with flames all up her back. Our house had turned into a real-life version of The Sims. I shouted at her to go outside where I started hitting the flames until they're out, almost setting myself alight in the process. This was followed by a twenty-minute period of me holding a lukewarm shower over her while I directed my eldest son in making sure the dinner didn't end up as overdone as my wife.
This isolation lark is going to be more dangerous than I thought. Stay safe everybody!
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@Gremio108 Bloody hell, I probably shouldn’t laugh at that but the “I think I might be on fire” is a wonderfully British response. I hope she’s doing alright now!
We’re going to go to the beach with the dog tomorrow as who knows when we will next be able to venture that far (it’s only 20mins in the car). I’ve seen some horrible stats about how we have the same number of deaths in the UK as Italy did two weeks ago. Just gearing myself up for the next week of work which feels like it will be a descent into chaos.
My city just announced a "stay at home" order that goes in effect Monday night. I don't think there's been any cases in our county yet (and only about 30 in the state), so they're trying to get out ahead of it, which is good.
I believe everyone in our household works in "necessary" jobs though, so we'll have to see how it affects us. I work as a receptionist at an independent living center, my brother at Burger King (as a restaurant it might be open, but they're already drive through & delivery only), my mother at a local grocery store (she works in the deli though, so hopefully that limits her exposure to people somewhat), and my father works for the billing department of the hospital (though in an office setting in a building in a different part of town than the hospital itself).
I'm mostly worried about the fact that I have to take a cab to work on most days, and you never know who was in it before.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
So coronavirus has ratcheted up somewhat now and it looks like our company plans are going to hit the skids. Maybe 2 or 3 days at most and we will all go into isolation. Probably ordered to early next week.
Crazy, surreal and mind boggling. Good luck everyone. Stay out of trouble, stay home and stay alive. None of you are allowed to die. Let's all agree on keeping that promise.

My store is still open and I work for one of the major UK telecommunication companies. To be honest it just seems like they care more about us selling iPhones than our health.
Thanks for the concern all. She is absolutely fine, mainly thanks to my superb first aid skills (if I say so myself) - 20 minutes under a lukewarm/cold shower and then cling film over the burn, which means that we've gone from a burn the size of my hand last night, to something that looks like a small lovebite this morning!
It was insane stuff though. Someone tell me how to put images on here and I'll try and post a pic of the jumper she was wearing
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@LieutenantFatman It is the first time she's been on fire, but she did once have a minor incident with the table and a scented candle. So she's got some form in this area.
@JohnnyShoulder I think that song did get a mention last night when we'd all calmed down
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
Even if I didn't have it before, I've just been to three town centre shops whilst my immune system is being weakened by unrelated germs, so chances are I've got it now. Will self-isolate for five days and if nothing worse happens, hurrah. If things do develop, then I've got food for five more.
Don't you have any friends who could drop off some supplies for you? Seems like an unnecessary risk to take if you're already worried about your immune health.
He's just downloaded Animal Crossing onto his Switch (guess I'll trade in the physical copy I'd picked up for him) and hopefully that'll see him through the immediate.
Do you plan on playing that with him when you two are reunited? Multiple people can live on one island, so you guys can actually have your characters hang out together!
I'm self-isolating because I'm in an at-risk group, but am also physically disabled which means I can't just easily pop out to the shops. The problem hoarders have created for everyone has made me incredibly anxious this past week. Luckily found a shopping slot for next week but am expecting most of it to be out of stock. If things do not ease up I am actually in danger of running out of food as I have no friends or family in this part of the country. Why the **** have supermarkets not set aside slots for the elderly and sick and disabled? I imagine they rubbed their hands with glee early on in this crisis as it will make up for a crap Christmas trading period and then some. Anyway, if I do end up struggling to get supplies I may have to contact Scope (a disabled charity) for help. Hopefully things will be okay.
The number of people continuing to go out for non-essential items and ignoring social distancing advice beggars belief. There's a café opposite my Mum that has refused to close - and it's been packed. Additionally it's been reported that the town, harbour and beach near where she lives have been extremely busy. What is wrong with people? Do they not care?! Have they not seen the situation in Italy?
@Jaz007 Ha, I don't blame you for thinking I was joking. There was a touch of Looney Tunes about the whole thing
@mookysam Hope you're okay mate. I think things will soon level out with regards to delivery slots and shopping, once people realise they've been a bit daft.
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
