About as long as I can remember I've loved this man's work, he's a major inspiration to me, particularly in his everlasting stoicism in the face of the hardships he's faced in recent years. I'm not normally one to get upset over the death of a "star", but today's news has really hit me hard. Just wondering if anyone else out there felt the same as me? I truly feel that today we have lost one of the all time greats.

From 16/08/15 I’m going for sober for six months to raise money for the Princess Alice Hospice. Donations can be made here and anything you can offer is greatly appreciated: https://www.justgiving.com/Stephen-Butler5

Wish me luck!

I was never a fan of his writing, I just couldn't settle with it. I absolutely loved his ideas and adaptions of his work though. He was an absolute lunatic, in all the best ways. As someone who has seen first hand the destruction Alzheimer's causes you just have to doff your cap to him. It's always sad to lose someone so genuinely important, and he was one such person. God bless you sir. YNWA.

Carpet people was brilliant (one of my favourite books), his discworld series was an acquired taste but well worth becoming invested. But no the news didn't hit me hard, but if the afterlifes controlled by 'reaper man' he will be in a good place.
