@Oram77 Blimey dude! I know the game isn't that long but you must have been putting the hours in. How long did it take you?
I always take my time with my first playthrough and try to search everywhere, to see if I can find all collectibles and items and stuff. I've managed a handful of hours and just got wrist access level 2 when I stopped yesterday. Hoping to get back into it shortly.
@Oram77 - And here I was thinking I was making good progress; I’ve put in something like six hours so far, made it a bit further than @BearEatsBeets, but I’m probably still only about a…..third(?) of the way through. So congrats(?) on finishing it so quickly.
Out of curiosity, how would you compare/rank this game with the rest of the series? (Personally I’m already tempted to put it above everything except 4 and the 1, 2, and 4 remakes, but for all I know I might have only played the best parts so far).
Also, a question for both you and @BearEatsBeets: How are you finding/did you find the main survival horror bit in the hospital? Did you have trouble dealing with the game throwing curve balls at you every 20 minutes ? Or were you luckier than I was and it wasn’t that bad for you? (In my defence, I only died twice in that bit, but man did it feel like I was kept on my toes a lot of that time 😂)
@FullMetalWesker Sorry didn't get your tag (a stray s). I absolutely love the survival horror section in the hospital primarily because it throws so much at you and you really have to plan your moves and actions. When you discover dead zombies can rise as worse versions much like the original it totally made me pause and consider my actions so carefully, especially around what to craft.
I've just reached the courtyard and I think I've died twice as Grace and once as Leon (in the attic), it wasn't until I had defeated the thing there that I realised there were spots to climb up above it. I'm playing on Normal (modern) and have saved as often as possible 😄.
The sense of relief once I got out of the basement was palpable.
Played until Care Center. I am not over the moon as a first impression but I'm sure it gets better. Leon's first part felt a bit cheap tbh. I couldn't help but compared it with 4 remake's village scene.
I am now exiting the RPD and I freaking love this game! The easter eggs are subtle and awesome!!
The Dimitrescu wine bottle in the VIP apartment. You know the one made with virgins blood
The whole RPD is just made to tickle the nostalgia

I've just finished for today and I've reached Racoon City. I met an OG enemy dialed to 11 and used a lot of ammo. This area looks amazing. I've got the first bit for moving further in and had a nice few minutes just sniping zombies from the rooftop.
Loving it so far but beginning to question if the platinum might be harder than that guide led me to believe. I like to think I've been thorough enough so far to have got all or most collectibles.
@BearsEatBeets - Sorry, that one’s on me for trying to type it out manually 🙃
Exactly! It felt like the classic Resi Evil formula, but refined a bit more with how enemies often change locations and move around, and the fact you can’t just wipe out enemies that are in your way also makes aimless wandering really dangerous (as I found out the hard way)
Same, but in my case, I definitely didn’t need it (fun fact: if you lure it to a specific area, it actually gets stuck and you can just stand there and blast it till it dies 👍)
“The sense of relief when I got out of the basement was palpable.”
………Ah, good to know 😅
Played until Care Center. I am not over the moon as a first impression but I'm sure it gets better. Leon's first part felt a bit cheap tbh. I couldn't help but compared it with 4 remake's village scene.
Honestly? It kinda does: it actually reminded me of how his bit began in Resident Evil 6, albeit not quite as insane.
Also yeah, his bits do get better after that (though so far they seem to serve mostly as brief bouts of catharsis after the accompanying survival horror sections).
@Oram77 - …………….you know the crazy part is you’re not even the first one to do it (pretty sure I saw at least 8 people picked it up on PSNProfiles). Still, congrats on getting it, overly fast time or not
On a side note though, Out of curiosity, how many playthroughs did you end up doing? (Considering you mentioned only finishing your first plathrough recently, I can’t imagine it was more than 2, right?)
I rolled the credits with the Good ending and I really loved it! It has everything I want from a Resident Evil game.
Awesome locations.
Action!
Creepy swings in the story!
Nostalgia! I even saw a streamer say "I played Resident Evil 2 Remake 2 months ago! How can I have nostalgia in this game!"
Capcom really had outdone themselves!
I will be doing more playthroughs with increased difficulties!

Just finished for today and I think I am very close to the end. I absolutely loved the Raccoon City section although the gameplay section that joins the two parts has been the poorest part of the game so far. It's pretty quick though so doesn't affect it much.
There was a type of enemy in this final area that I didn't like but likewise seemed to be a quick part (so far).
Overall though I'm still loving it and just need to see how it finally plays out tomorrow.
I played very slowly taking in the atmosphere and looking out for every last thing. I got all the files which is the first time I think I've ever managed that. I did miss one Raccoon though, but again that's probably much better than I usually manage.
My final opinion is that I love it. A few minor flaws I mentioned but it's still up with the best in the series if not quite the best itself.
Of the final 'option', I clearly didn't follow the story clues quite as diligently as I should and picked what is the 'wrong' ending. I guessed as much when it played out very abruptly and after the credits asked if I wanted to try the other way from that point 😄.
I'm looking through the trophies now and deciding what playthoughs I need to do and what bonuses to get. I'm even more shocked how @Oram77 got the Platinum already now. Did you follow a guide from the start?
I'm looking at least two more runs but it might even be three to make it easier. Now to find out where that one pesky raccoon managed to hide from me.
RE9 seems to be getting a ton of high praise which is great to see. It's typically not my type of game but I might have to give it a shot especially since I picked up a PS5 Pro last week.
So I have reached Racoon City where you need to find the 3 parts for the bomb and I just feel like I'm not enjoying this section. It doesn't feel like a Resi game to me in this particular part. The area just seems to be lacking in character and atmosphere and I'm not too keen on the weapons upgrade / purchasing system and lack of item box. This was a good opportunity to include a merchant type character here but instead it's just done through menus. Again, a lack of character.. I much preferred Grace's sections in the care centre as that felt like proper Resident Evil. I hope the game picks up a bit once I get past this section but I think I might have set my expectations a little too high for Requiem. There's a little voice in my head that keeps saying "Village was better than this. Village was better than this". I wish I could stop comparing, relax and enjoy the ride a bit more.
@McSavage I respect your opinion, but there's no way Village is better then 9, I will however say the care centre in one of the best locations Capcom has ever made,
I want to throw this out there too, I really like Grace as character, unlike Ethan (who maybe my least favourite MC in gaming) she is well written and believable her voice actress is going to win the VA award this year (imo). I don't know I just really vibe with everything 9 has to offe, hopefully it gets lots of DLC like 7 did.
Edit: Regarding the weapon shop for Leon. I actually like it a lot as you just get the credits for the kills and don't to mash the pick up button like you had to in 4 or 5. This also makes sense lore wise as you are providing combat data on Bioweapons with each kill, which was teased all the way back in RE3 og, that to me is a brilliant touch. Finally I would absolutely hated if this was an actual merchant, that gimmick only worked in RE4
@Oram77 I know I'm probably in the minority when it comes to Village but that game just clicked with me. I loved it. Anyways, as I was saying I think I need to just relax and enjoy the rest of Requiem. I'm sure I will grow to love it. I'm seeing comments online from some people that they are not enjoying the same section I mentioned above but hopefully that's just a lull and it kicks off again. Congrats on the plat btw. I'll definitely be aiming for that myself.
