So far it happened twice tonight pain in the ass when you’re in bed and you have to get up to shut it off because you don’t have the controller with you, any idea what the hell this is?
lol my original Xbox One started doing this after a couple years and has never stopped. I even took it apart when it stopped working and cleaned it out before realizing the power brick died. Even with the system cleaned and new power brick it still does it. Doesn't the PS5 have a proper button? The Xbox 360 Slim and original Xbox One had this stupid capacitive touch "button", which is not a mechanical button but a spot you touch. I have no idea what causes it but once I felt static zap when my elbow came near the button so maybe static? I haven't done any scientific studies on why my Xbox does it, and that may be a completely different cause from your PS5. I just know how it feels, it's annoying!
No idea about why it may start up like that but make sure it isn't downloading and updating the system firmware/software before turning it off or you could really mess things up.
I guess it's updating something and then turning it off again by itself like my PS3 did back in the day. But as I am still a few days from (hopefully) getting my PS5 so I can only guess at this point.
Just watch out so you don't turn it off while it's updating anything.
Last night I was choosing my hdmi channel for my ps5 through my Panasonic tv remote and the console came on, even though I hadn't touched it or the controller.
