I was surprised to see there wasn't already a Pragmata topic started, so I started one. I played about an hour of this game after it dropped at midnight last night, just to get my feet wet with the game, with plans on making it my weekend play. It's been fantastic so far, even though I only logged an hour. The perfect bridge game to play for a week while waiting for Saros.

Its been a crazy good last month of gaming. From RE:req, to Pragmata, then to Saros on the 30th. Rebooted Returnal and mixed some in there too.

Looking forward to playing more Pragmata this weekend. Will have more impressions and hope they are good ones which I'm sure they will be. Would love to hear all your impressions as well.

about 3hrs in after Friday night and will be really digging in today and tomorrow. But this game is really great so far. So many things to talk about and some things that really blow me away, but they are too spoiler ridden and can't say. Esp when the game just came out days ago.

BeyondKnight

Saw this game is about 12 hours long, it looks amazing but with such a huge backlog I have, I am gonna wait for a sale. But I am happy you and others are having such a great time with it and reviews are great on it, Capcom doesn't disappoint and are on fire this year with 3 games out so far

@BeyondKnight Yes 100%. Your logic is great. Pragmata will always be waiting for you whenever you are ready. I had no intentions of getting it day1, just kinda worked out that way. I have a backlog too. But I had just got done beating RE:req last weekend. I didn't want to get involved in a lengthy game, because Saros is a priority for me day1 in 12 days. But when I heard the reviews saying this game is only 12hrs, I figured it would be perfect to get now and beat, then move onto Saros on the 30th.

You are right. Capcom is killing it lately no doubt. The graphics in this game are amazing too. RE engine really shines here. The ray tracing is amazing in this title. Much better then RE:req, but not because RE's was bad, only because in Pragmata there's many more shiny surfaces and environments for the ray's to reflect off of. Both games look stunning and are showpieces.

The hacking mechanic in this game grows on me with each hour. That's all I can say w.o. spoiling things. But there's something just so satisfying about successfully hacking an enemy, then dealing all kinds of damage. I thought I would hate it, but they did alot more implementation with things within it, that you don't understand at face value, until you play the game and advance in it. Its soooo good.

@Oram77 What did you think of....

How New York was like 3D printed with the lunafiliment, some of the environment was on its side, upside down etc??? It looked amazing in RE engine no? And I haven't rolled credits yet, so won't ask you about the ending. But I think the hacking mechanic was way deeper then when this game was shown off. At face value it was easy to see how people might think it would get repetitive, but the implementation of the different hacking nodes, along with how certain enemies can block hacking with the "red blockers" kinda kept things fresh. What's your take on the hacking, did it get old to you, or do you think it was cool? I just think its ultra satisfying going through multiple nodes on a successful hack down to the last second and pasting an enemy haha

Another thing that took me by surprise that I really liked, was the dark souls mechanic of enemies respawning when you die and you don't continue at death right where you left off like in RE:req. You are back at the shelter. That kind of risk/reward system you have to think about before going further plays into the mechanics of the game nicely.
