I have written on many posts of my enjoyment of this game so far. I thought to bring it all to one spot for those that like it as well and for others to post questions/thoughts. My plan is to take my Oracle class to the end going Angel path. At level 3 my Main, the "chosen one", is by far the worst of the group. I am staggered at the start of every fight, meaning I can barley move and only get one attack. This is due to my bad choice at character creation of choosing the wrong curse. I use my crossbow for my first turn, but with little skill in it and no feats I miss about 60% of the time. Then I move in for melee and still miss often. I role play that the group keeps me around as cannon fodder.
As for the gameplay so far, only a couple of minor slow down glitches usually between cut scenes. Graphics look standard for a isometric rpg. The amount of sliders and changes to difficulty makes it available to play for anyone. Standard story of you have to do this to save the world. Quite fun so far. I'll gladly answer questions and look forward to hearing what everyone else is playing for a class choice.
Sorry to hear about not being able to move, bought this & playing on ps5 too. Waiting for an update around wednesday or thursday to upgrade fixes to the enhanced edition since just came out.
I'm running a cleric & warpriest but as an elf, so weak hp trade off. She's doing alright but need more companions still in opening chapters. Looking forward to run with few companions doing some digging.
(There's been a lot of vibe to make evil characters...alignment wise. Lawful evil being the most mentioned.)
@Winter2k23 divine classes are fun! I also àm seeing many evil or at least evil leaning companions. I plan on staying roughly neutral good throughout, so this may cause me to lose a few companions. I usually play a good character the first time I play an RPG. My second play through I'll be going the lich route. With how long this game is I'll easily be playing into next year.
@Elodin Definetely seen some youtube guides, most of the companions are towards the evil side so good maybe tricky. It will be my first experience with Wendaug too (expecting many betrayals haha.), gone with Lann on PC runs, again not too far in (life happens so many times.) wrath is mentioned so much dwarfing the main game , really experimenting with classes in opening chapters. So many classes!
@HallowMoonshadow I have been picking away at it. I'm at the end of Act 2. Enjoying it quite a bit. I haven't restarted like you, but have been very tempted too, as my oracle angel build seems weak compared to some of my companions. I have been jumping around on games though taking it slow with wotr. I was also just lent the new HZD so feel compelled to play that to get it back to them. I did play kineticist in kingmaker and enjoyed that class a bunch. I'm leaning sorcerer Lich on my second play through for Wotr. What is your favorite companion set up? I'm currently using Lann (as Drover, though should have stayed all archer I think), Selah, Sosiel, and lately Daeran over Ember even though he is an oracle like me. My hard battles always go with me summoning an army of skeletons and slowly picking away keeping the enemies distracted with all the skeletons.
I have Kingmaker installed on my HD, through my PS+ sub. I got the disc version a year ago but.. it never worked.
I am not ready to start it because I’m still pretty enamoured by Xenoblade 3, but I am wondering if I should skip Kingmaker entirely and go straight for WOTR. What do you reckon?
I know I could always go back to Kingmaker, but I only ever hear bad things from people who play Divinity OS after playing OS2 so I don’t want to ruin Kingmaker by playing the sequel first, if that makes sense!
I am also aware that Kingmaker is arguably not that good in some respects.
@HallowMoonshadow thanks, just knowing Kingmaker is a bit of a buggy mess I think I’ll give it a miss then. Hopefully the second one is a smoother experience…!
@kyleforrester87 I'll second what @HallowMoonshadow said. I enjoyed the first, but it had some glitches for sure and a really annoying "must be here at this time or basically game over" mechanic. Wotr on the other hand is getting constant updates and I've had only one glitch and that was 5 updates ago. The story is fun and the options are fantastic to play the way you want. If you see an Army of skeletons, don't worry. It is just my good Angel oracle saving the day. (I'm role-playing in my head how my character feels bad every time he uses the spell. Lol.)
