I've paid extra to get my Collector's Edition from Game by midday Friday. Maybe I should send them a message to open the box and email me the code inside. Still I work nights and won't finish until 6am on Friday so I'll try and get a quick nap in before it arrives.
I've got next week off for half term so I can spend some time with the kids. That surely means it'll be ok to play this all weekend and leave them to their own devices knowing that I'll be making up for it right? š

I usually prefer NX Gamer to Digital Foundry for performance analysis. This is a good quality Horizon comparison he's done for IGN and interestingly he makes the opposite recommendation to DF for which mode he'd use...
Personally, Iāll always choose 60fps over a sharper resolution. I have no doubt that itāll still look beautifulā¦ hell Zero Dawn still smacks-my-gob on base PS4.
@colonelkilgore If you have Amazon Prime, they will just deliver it on release day. I've never known Amazon to deliver early or late with video games when you pre-order from them.

Game took my money today for the collector's edition. So into town Friday after work to collect it. Can't wait. Staying clear of the main page and youtube as I want to experience this one completely blind! Only 4 more days š
Dunno whether to play at 30FPS or 60FPS. I played Valhalla at 30 because the image looked a lot better and it didnāt really need a mega smooth framerate. Whereas Spider-Man was impossible to go back to 30 after Iād tried 60FPS.
I can't imagine a scenario where 60fps wouldn't be wholly preferable. Even if you lose some visual detail, games both look and FEEL better at higher framerates.
Ironically, I guess, the benefit of playing a PS5 on a 1080p set is that you always automatically get the best version of the game on performance mode.
@colonelkilgore HFW apparently being as or more stable performance-wise than HZD on base PS4 despite the denser environments really blows my mind. Definitely not surprised to learn it was primarily designed as a PS4 game now, as that version appears to be super-optimized.
It'll be interesting to see what mode I end up playing the majority of the game at. I'll likely try it on Resolution Mode first just to see if the 30 FPS is fine since I played Miles Morales at 30 FPS no problem, but I did just play Horizon Zero Dawn again on the PS5 (obviously at 60 FPS). That combined with the fact that Sony's 1st party studios did an excellent job with checkerboarded resolution on the PS4 Pro has me thinking I'll end up playing it in Performance Mode. Games still looked great even if they weren't actually 4K on the Pro.

@colonelkilgore I think that used to be the case when they used royal mail. But since they introduced Prime delivery and use their own carriers, probably not so much.

So Iāve now tapped on the tab and refreshed it 6 times in total. Still about 2mm away from being Dispatched atm (thatās on an 8inch screen btwā¦ so adjust distance from Dispatched accordingly depending on your usual screen size) š¤Ŗ

@velio84 Iām playing up to it a little bit in all honesty šā¦ but it is rare that I buy a game at release, let alone have the day booked off to play it, so yeahā¦ a little bit š¤.
I've got the PS4 version preordered on PSN, bought with some shopto vouchers. A reasonable discount which means I'll be able to buy something else with the saving. I will be hitting that upgrade button the moment it's available and leaving the PS5 in rest mode overnight in the hope that I can have a quick go in the morning before school drop-off and work š
