Awesome work you top 3 guys. Well done Jimmer-jammer who's come straight in and set out his stall, Mr_B021 who has now managed two 3rd place spots, and of course Kairu who managed to elevate himself up from his 2nd place last week to the top spot.
Top job everyone and thanks for taking part. I'll compile another challenge for Monday so looking forward to seeing you guys then and hopefully us guys on the bottom half will show that we are ready to step up into the podium positions!
@Jimmer-jammer It’s playing the game as intended so I think we can let you off this time 😉. Great job getting those menus done in time though. I’ll have to recheck what I was planning for next week to see where in the menus the car and track are unlocked but hopefully it’s not too many in.
@Kairu There’s definitely that feeling of jeopardy with it that you need to dial it in fast. I wish I was better at doing it myself but the challenge is enjoyable all the same.
Getting it nailed in just 5 laps can either work for you or against you. I wanted to strike a balance between having a chance to dial it in but also it not taking too long so that as many people can fit it into their schedule as possible. I could increase it a few laps if we all agree that’s better? Let me know if anyone has an opinion either way and I’ll factor that into next week.
Hey all, back with another midweek fastest lap challenge. A quick reminder for anyone that hasn't taken part yet, each week I'll pick a different track and car combination - hopefully one that we've all got from playing the campaign or one that isn't too expensive from the used car or brand central dealers and we then see who out of all of us can set the fastest lap with it using the TT mode on the specific track. It's open to anyone from novice to seasoned players and is just a bit of fun with the only prize on offer being the feeling of smugness knowing that you've beaten your fellow Push Square forum members. So here are the deets:
Track: High Speed Ring - Full Course Car: Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA) '89 (Perfect car for the time of day) Settings: Default settings sheet (if you think you might have changed settings just create a new sheet) Tyres: Comfort Medium Time of day: 12:00 (Nice weather for ducks) Method:
The idea is to go in blind, no practice using the track / car combo before hand and no restarting - this is going to rely on everyone being honest as there's really no way to police this. Any day Monday to Thursday this week go to World Circuits, select the track followed by Time Trial -
Select the specific time of day -
Select the car and tyres -
You've got 5 laps to put together a solid lap time. Once you've crossed the line on the 5th lap exit the time trial and take a screenshot of the times screen as per this example:
Upload the image to Twitter or another sharing service e.g. imgur.com and post the link here. Please try and leave it till Friday to post your screenshot so as not to influence other peoples times but I can appreciate that this won't always be possible e.g. going on holiday. I'll take a look at all the screenshots and pick the driver with the fastest lap and they will be awarded the prize of being a Smug G(i)T and be able to bask in the glory of their achievement for an entire week before we start all over again.

Hey all, just wanted to drop a reminder on here about the Push Square GT7 Fastest Lap Challenge. You've still got a day to get those 5 laps in round the High Speed Ring. I'll do the usual and compile the times and then announce the results around 9 BST tomorrow.
Just a note on the times posted by @velio84 above that those were set using the walls to guide the car round the corners. A great loophole but I think I'm going to have to disallow them as it feels unfair to others and it runs counters to the spirit of the rules. I commend velio for being honest about the method though and will hopefully come up with an amicable solution for tomorrow when compiling the results. Please don't take them as a reference for any times that you might set and don't be put off if you are a long way off those as it can easily save you a good 4 seconds.
Some great times out there and even those from people that think they haven't done so well. It's not an easy challenge this one as you really have to tip toe around some bits of the track.
I’ve run my laps and best I could do was a 1:50.968
As someone pointed though out I’ve actually broken my own rules by not realising my car wasn’t stock. At some point I’ve ended up adding a weight reduction upgrade so it has 10pp more than it would out the box but didn't notice when I looked at the settings.
It’s sometimes going to be tricky for everyone to race a stock car if it might have been used for something in the campaign so I’m not going to get too precious about things like this but I will apply a penalty of some kind to both myself and to Velio as we both broke the rules in some way. Again I'll state this is just for fun but it's really just being fair to those people that did it the honest way
I am new to the series. Is the PS4 (GT6) worth getting? Mainly asking bc it’s so much cheaper and there seems to be a lot of criticism of the latest rendition
@rockodoodle I believe that GT Sport is still a worthwhile purchase even now, but others with the game might be able to give you better advice. There's not as much wrong with GT7 as people would have you believe however. There's a bunch of us on here that have been playing it for months and while there are issues we've been having a pretty good time playing both the single player portion of the game and online sport as well as multiplayer lobbies.
Push Square GT7 Fastest Lap Challenge - results week 3
So the results are in for the 3rd week of the Push Square Fastest Lap Challenge. As always thanks all who took part, I'm mighty impressed that so many people set some good lap times considering the rain should have been a real challenge this time round. There was also a few controversies that I had to deal with which has taken much deliberation to come to a conclusion on how to deal with them. The in end what I've decided to do is have a set penalty for any infringements of 10 seconds which is applied to the persons fastest lap. This should essentially put them to the back of the pack, but if there are multiple people infringing then the order will basically work in favour of the person who cheated the best. So the top 3...
Congrats to Mr_B021 for showing everyone else how it's done. Well done also to Kairu who has been in those top 2 spots for the past 3 weeks and to MatthewJP who has launched himself into the top 3 for the first time this week.

@render the aim is to one week be in the top 3 on merit and not after controversies, but I'll take it!

@render thx! I figured for its price right now, it might be something to play for a while until whatever kinks need to be updated and maybe even a price drop or Black Friday deal.
