Oh lol, I was not expecting anything April fools related, let my guard down as it's the afternoon.

I should probably continue exploring rather than doing constant invasions. Great fun when you get a win though.

Rewards are 1 rune arc (if that's what it's called) each time a host dies when in their world and some runes as well. The biggest reward though are the bragging rights for surviving a 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1 fight. Although on one occasion I actually had some backup from a fellow invader which was unexpected. That was 2 vs 2.

Yes, it gets boring after a while, true. I have to roll a lot with my current build, dropped my shield to use double scythes. Not rolling is a death sentence against multiple attackers in pvp. Maybe I should throw in a few back steps instead..

Holy ****! Malenia is no ****ing joke! One of the toughest ever From Soft bosses imho… maybe just a shade under Owl Father at the Hirata Estate in Sekiro. Very tough!

@colonelkilgore she’s got low poise. You can use mimic tear to help abuse this.

Has anyone done NG+ yet?

By the time I finished NG I was so high level I didn’t know where to put points. Hard to imagine where you’d build from 80 int/50vigor/etc etc.

@Mega-Gazz I did try my mimic tear… but was getting nowhere fast. Managed to beat her with Black Knife Tiche after about 3 hours of trying.

@velio84 cheers dude… so the final final boss is worse eh? 🤔 Sounds about right.

@Kairu yeah I don’t think that my build was very good at all for her. My all strength, colossal sword waving melee focus was far too slow to take the fight to her really. Haven’t done any casting, nor used infusions (like bleed) either.

I might go a dex bleed build when I play the PS5 version (been playing the PS4 version in back-compat) as I’ve heard so much positivity about it.

Oh so that is where you start the game. Revenge is sweet!

@Jimmer-jammer Interesting. Does this include the surprise boss fight?

I made a music video showing off the twin scythe build in pvp. The angel's wings ability is strong, catches a few people by surprise, I think. Certainly nice when outnumbered.

@LieutenantFatman Ha, awesome. What sort of build did you need for those?

I’m currently on a dex build with a frozen axe but swap it for Rogier’s rapier for some bosses as it gets hits away quicker. There are a few weapons I still need to get my stats up to try out.

And has anyone here ever gone for a pure mage build? I just always wonder how you do it because it must take ages to get stats high enough to make it worthwhile but also to get the spells. Is it a NG+ thing?

Thanks, only need 24 faith for the winged scythe and you're good to go. I put quite a bit into Vigor and Endurance as well, so I can wear decent armour for poise. Means I can tank some hits and not get too easily stun locked when a group jump me.

I imagine a mage build would be really handy against certain bosses such as dragons. I have encountered some in pvp. Some spells do a huge amount of damage when they hit.

@Ralizah yeah it does, I thought I’d missed the chance to beat them but they came back.

So a funny thing happened on my second character when fighting Loretta….. watch at around 1:40 in:

For anyone having trouble with malenia, swarm of flies and mimic tear make the fight trivial. Just removed all other spells so me and the mimic spammed that, she’s stunlocked the whole fight. I feel no shame.

@Mega-Gazz That Melania fight == total bull****. I’m armed to the teeth and have got her down to 1/4 left on the second phase using mimic tear and moonveil+10 and she basically destroys and defiles me in a single move. I might check out your suggestion given I’ve been trying for 2 hours 😅
