@Mega-Gazz I'm level 58 and have played for 93 hours! Mostly exploring, only topping up my runes when I'm close to levelling up and about to face a boss or something.

I have way to much to type because I haven't been sharing with you guys, my bad.
In short, I when't to hel- er I mean I when't to caelid, I ended up at the town of something I can't remember There I was getting sniped my wizards, over, and over, and over again, I ended up unlocking all the towers to open the spell gates, beat a mini boss there, ad headed back to a dude in a cabin. He asked me to find a gold needle in the swamp, to save this girl, and I was not going to lose her like I did the last one.
And oh boy, the boss the get it from, kicked my ass, over, and over, and over, again, I spent two days just roaming that place, getting stronger, and then I learned about bleed! The claws I got had some, so I try'd it on him, and dang did it do damage.
I had the strat, and I had the weapon, (Oh and BTW around this point I learned how to use two claws, and two had weapons, so I have slowly been getting better at not having to use a shield, still not sure if I will use the claws more just yet)
After a few hours of upgrading, and losing runes, I got to soul level 35+, ( I also found out how great runes worked, but never used a rune arc) I keep trying, I keep getting killed, till one run, I learned his pattern so well, that getting the bleed off was easy, I swapped to my clay more, and learned that he couldn't hit me, so I just cheated the rest of the fight, and I don't regret it(He was low anyway).
[spoiler]I got the needle and a bit later, he made me what I needed to say the girl, I did, I was proud of myself, good ending. (And I found a half man half wolf dude, and I should probably look up what to do next for his quest line)
And this whole time, I still need to get to the academy, I'm just having way to much fun roaming around!
And now learning armor doesn't really do to much, I was able to put on some lighter stuff, and a little bit of that Elden bling!
I know I rushed though writing this, but if I hadn't this would have been hours of me I would have to write, around 10 hours, and I know I didn't talk about the boss much, but its because anyone who has done the quest line will know who i'm talking about.
Anyway, if you took your time to read this really bad write out of my last two day in elden ring, thank you, and there was some stuff I glossed over, I glossed over a lot of stuff, but I will try to write out my single day of elden ring, as to avoid this happening, where I have like three two days of accounted playing.
This is probably going to go down as my game of the year, as I didn't have one last year TBH, but there is still a lot of time in the year LOL. And im not even close to beating this game I don't think.
Also, is it better I just go two handed on a weapon? Or are the claws good? but need to be in a good build to work? (Because I still don't have enough strength to whole my really big weapons,)
@velio84 Really? To think I was doing as well as I was, does armor really not change much? LOL. Pretty much did everything I wanted to do there, (For now) There is the dragon as well, but I will save that for later, oh and I have dragon magic now.
@Jimmer-jammer Thats one hardcore rule to put on your run. But it sounds like the lore you got was well worth it, I need to look out for it more, because as of now, im all turned around on its lore.

@velio84 Just a heads up mate - I am not sure how many 'Larval Tears' exist in the game, or if these are finite resrouce, but I have somehow managed to organically come across 7-8 of these just through normal play and exploration.
I probably don't plan to respec that many times in NG, so more than happy to drop a couple if you committ to any builds that don't work out!
(NB I respecced from pure DEX - - > ARC/DEX, so I could use Eleanora Poleblade, which is absolutely shredding enemies after the update...! Looks cool as hell as well)
I'm level 92 and I've played 90 hours and I feel like it's getting endy. It's feeling climactic. But not like I'm at the last boss. I'm at near last bosses. I made progress and killed one that was giving me trouble. Now I'm at one where the fight is split into two like many of these are, and the first half is manageable but the second half I can get like one hit in and it kills me :') but I finally hit max rank on my weapon so I'm going to go back in and see if I can sort it out. Failing that I guess I'll wander off in another direction and see what else I can find!
@Jimmer-jammer You've done well if you've not been using fast travel, you must have found yourself in some interesting situations. With how fast this loads on PS5 I've just got used to fast travelling all over the place but I think if it took as long as say Witcher 3 on PS4 to load then I'd not have been so keen to use it. But then dying would also be a chore so I'd probably not be so experimental in combat or platforming 😆
@velio84 I've found the same problem, sunk loads of smithing stones into my two katanas that I now don't have many left for other upgrades. I guess they can be farmed though but it's wanting to spend the time doing that.
@CJD87 Sounds like that build is really working out for you. I've been sinking all my runes into INT for the Moonveil but have unlocked the ability to respec so might try something else out just for fun if I find another weapon I like the sound of.

That boss is the 3rd time I met it. In stone sword key area at the first grace of the game. Then in Stormveil Castle basement and now but this time with Scarlet rot was even stronger. (But so was I)😅

@JJ2 Decent man! I actually thought the boss was a breeze in that Radahn cave, but the lead-up enemies were brutal!! Let me know where you head next.... I'm currently re-speccing, re-grouping and levelling up a bit before taking on the Capitol
Been a while since I’ve felt this way about a game but I have no idea what to play next. Everything I try I can’t be bothered with because it doesn’t stack up at all to Elden Ring. Even games I was already in the middle of aren’t really interesting me.
@nessisonett If its the sense of exploration and discovery your jonesing for and you have gamepass, maybe try Tunic? I've played the first couple of hours and it seems like a chill companion to elden ring but still has cool sense of discovery.

I’ve then finally done the three npc enemy summons North of Deep Siofra well in front of giant pot man. Wasn’t easy. Got probably the best talisman in the game in my opinion (unless there s another same +2) vastly increases equip load 👍🏻

So I re-speced to be able to fully utilise the Moonlight great sword and managed to beat the 2 gargoyles as well as the boss in the bottom of the Divine Tower in Caelid (both with ash summons though to somewhat distract the bosses). It's quite clunky to use and slow, and I'm not used to such playstyle but think I'll stick with it instead of re-specing to a totally different build - I'll do a new build in a new save file at some point.
I’m using the DMGS too, it’s really strong. I have 70 int now and melee hits like a truck. The charged r2 is really nice from range, staggers well. Just don’t forget to get 40 vigor too.
Defeated Rennala last night. That was interesting. Especially when she started turning her 'children' into graves and throwing them at you. 😬 Didn't find it too difficult, a couple goes to get her into her phase 2 then first time on that one.
Not respecced yet as I've not got any of those tears yet or a weapon that I feel to do that for.

@LN78 It’s a hard one but one of the best fights in the game. Only advice I can give is play it safe. Wait for the AOE attacks to finish, get a couple hits in and get out of there. Maybe try keeping your distance to bait out his easier to avoid attacks too.
Well I've had to look up a guide as it's clear there's something up with my npcs. I found my way to a tower at Caria Manor after beating a ghost knight and half beating a dragon that flew away and it was clear from the messages there should have been an npc at the top. I have no idea what I did but I atoned at the church of vows and afterwards voilà, they appeared. To my knowledge I haven't aggroed any npcs so God knows what happened. I'm just glad it's fixed! I'm thinking I might have to retrace my steps as god knows what I've missed!
@LN78 Smart move to put it down before it gets too frustrating. If it makes you feel any better, I was stuck on Radahn for a good couple of days - and it is/was genuinely the largest challenge I have had to overcome by a long shot.
Looking back, and certainly since I have now re-specced, my build wasn't helping me either... and when I actually managed to land hits on him, my damage was massively lacking!
Soon you will be able to reliably get to 2nd phase everytime, but this was what kept wrecking me...
One piece of advice - I actually think it is better to 'drag out' phase 1 so he can kill most of your NPC summons when he is approaching half-health. Then in his last stages of phase 1, I'd advise you try and re-summon all/most of the NPCs so that they return at full health for his return phase 2. A team of full-health NPCs at the start of phase 2 is great, as they can take the aggro and allow you to melt him!
(I only found out a few fights in that you can re-summon the NPCs! So just try to be strategic in when you bring them back, ideally just before phase 2) Good luck man!
