@colonelkilgore Hands down the creepiest enemy I’ve come across. When fighting them, I become all thumbs and can hardly handle them. Can’t quite put my finger on why, but if anyone has any ideas, perhaps they can point me in the right direction. Whatever the case, their design has From Software’s fingerprints all over it.
@CJD87
I thought Radahn was really easy with all the summons and a really cool and enjoyable bit of story.

Hi
I think the area you get into after the castle with the hands and after killing a boss has some important story quests that you may like. I think the hands can be mostly avoided. I didn’t like them either.

@CJD87
Ha ok. I thought maybe you were not using the summons. At first it really surprised me as I didn’t expect what’s going on but after a while I just stayed on Torrent for hit and runs and re summon the guys. The wondrous physics works wonder with strength and no damage too.

Hi sorry I didn’t have enough coffee this morning 😅
Same castle with the hands for you and a cool boss too I think would be perfect and fitting the story. I forgot the name.only the hands are annoying but avoidable. After some quest you find exploring the area after the boss that should logically be before killing Radahn since you understand better what that implies.

Is Radagon’s Scarseal worth it? Gives me 12 bonus stats but I take 10% more damage.
Been using Starscrouge Hairloom for +5 strength, which is nice.

@velio84
I think so. Enemies definitely stronger in the East. Probably have to kill a couple hands but it’s obvious you not supposed to go at them too many.
Even a big guy later you can completely avoid until you get to the boss quickly enough.
I’m trying not to spoil stuff obviously but there are quests to find in the area that comes after.

@Fight_Teza_Fight As far as I have read, it is worth it. But maybe not so much later on in the game as enemies hit harder. The wiki's for this game are funny right now, they are are just full of everyone saying "maybe" and the shrug shoulder emoji. I am using it!
@JJ2 Thanks mate, I actually beat the castle with all the hands (and end boss) which was awesome! I am actually also doing the quest that follows from that (Ranni?) - and agree it makes more sense now to kill Radhan etc
Any tips for Radhan? I can competently get to Phase2, and think now it is just a case of delivering huge DPS in phase 2 before he has a chance to wipe me ha!
in my wonderings I came across shadow or shade castle. I was trying to get to a map marker, but was blocked. I saw a castle down below and thought maybe there is a teleport in the castle to the top of the road to get to the map marker. No luck there, but stumbled on a boss that is way to tough for me. 30 tries and only got him down to 30% health at my best. At level 45, I need about 30 more levels to survive I'm afraid.
@LN78 Major major spoilers so don’t click if you’d rather not find out about a quest you probably haven’t done.
You need a secret medallion to use at the Grand Lift of Rold. I found a spirit summon at the end of one of the dungeons in Liurnia who told me to find the medallion. Found the first half in the village of the Albinaurics in Liurnia by accident after I heard a man inside a pot and whacked it. Second half was at the end of Castle Sol in the snowy place which I had to do for the boss trophy anyway. Using it at the lift by using the D-Pad to change action holds up a ‘secret medallion’ and takes you to the Consecrated Snowfield. I found loads and loads of cool stuff there including the pathway to Mohgwyn Palace and also to the super secret hidden Elphael which has the hardest demigod in the game.
For anyone who might care in the slightest.... I FINALLY beat Radahn.
This is why I love FromSoft so much, as this battle tested me and pushed me to my limit. I know some people have cake-walked him, but for me he has been the biggest hurdle of this game so far... by a country mile.
In the end, I swapped out Bloody Slash AoW - - > Hoarfrost Stomp - mainly as this was allowing more distance between him and I + the damage is quite solid.
But honestly, I think the key to winning here is being really strategic in when/how to use the summons team. I was initially trying to get the fight over with ASAP, but then realised it actually pays to drag it out. Ideally, when you get to end phase1... you want to be in a position where you can re-summon just ahead of phase2 starting. Then you have an army with 'fresh health' to draw away the agro whilst you pick the punishment windows accordingly.
I also had to play with equipment/build and weapons/AoW. It really was remarkably satisfying, not felt this elation since Returnal!!
@CJD87 Well done mate, sounds like an epic battle. It's strangely satisfying going through lots of combinations of equipment / items to find something that works for that particular battle. That's what I really liked about Hollow Knight as there was always a combo that worked for one thing but not so well on another.
I parked it at the Red Wolf of Radagon last night having had a few goes and got to about 1/3 of it's health left. I'm going to be working on that later as it feels like I had to work really hard to get to that point but I also feel like I'm not far off being able to do it. I might have to forget about the dual wield for this one and deploy a shield as those ranged attacks are proving quite hard to dodge.
