Topic: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection crashing issue

I’ve decided to finally try and platinum an Uncharted game and have gone back to Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune on the …: Nathan Drake Collection to do so… thing is, my copy has just been crashing non stop. Which is strange as I played through 1 and 2 back in around 2017 and 3 in 2019 with absolutely no issues using the same disc.

Did a bit of googling and it seems to be a fairly common issue. Since 2020 there appears to be some kind of issue with the online Friends stats. Tried deleting and re-installing but it continued to crash. Apparently the only way to solve the issue is to go offline and play through it then. Just waisted an hour or two 😡.

@Th3solution ahh cool, we’ll the good news is that apart from the crashing, even the original Drakes Fortune looks and plays so much better than I remember it. I guess my mind’s eye was remembering the PS3 version for some reason… but the difference is pretty huge. Enjoy dude.

Just a bit of extra on this subject. I was slightly concerned that trophies may be effected from playing with network connection switched off (as you’re unable to even view your own trophy list when off line etc.). I knew it shouldn’t be an issue but I couldn’t help but feel slightly anxious.

It was fine though, popped a few trophies during todays session, then switched the game off, connected the PS4 back online and then sync’d my trophies and all was well.

Just in case anyone else encounters a similar issue 😉

@colonelkilgore Fortunate that the offline play didn’t break trophies. The vast majority of the time I find there’s no problem with trophy earning while offline, but playing MGS2 now the game gave me a warning that my trophies might glitch if I play the first session offline. It was weird. I’m not sure why just the first save has to be online but that’s the way the game instructed. I believe it may have something to do with the cross-save functionality with the PS3 version.

I had no issue when I played Uncharted 3 early last year on my PS5. I always play connected to PSN, so I don't know if I just got lucky or what.

@Th3solution yeah that is a bit strange about MGS2, I’m the kinda gamer who just mashes through all those early messages too… so I probably wouldn’t even of been aware if I hade played it in Vita 🤣
