@Cornaboyzzz agree on all points. Kinda thought the Game of the Year award might’ve been an anomaly until I played it… but it’s just so good… in so many ways. Well done on its plat buddy

@Cornaboyzzz Excellent work 👍. I own that plat too and can definitely concur, it earned all the glitzy prizes it got.

@Diamond_Dog Congrats!! 6 years though, that's impressive. Respect to you for having the staying power 😄

@Diamond_Dog Oh yeah, I can imagine you feel quite liberated having finally closed that chapter of your life. What does the next chapter hold?

@Diamond_Dog
Excellent work and top effort. Huzzah!
I played and completed it but had nowhere near the dedication required to even think about going for platinum so have some idea about the effort required. I imagine it would probably take me about 6 years, even if I didn't stop playing it!

@velio84 Awesome work, well done 👍. I’m hoping to get there one day but making slow work of it. I’m 80 hours in now and still have a good amount to explore.

@Diamond_Dog I think Edith Finch is fantastic. My only regret is that I can’t experience it for the first time again. Lewis’s story had me quite literally dumbfounded with awe at what I had just experienced. Probably one of my most memorable moments in gaming ever. (I’m probably overselling it now so hope it doesn’t disappoint)

I hear you though, as far as coming off an epic game and not being able to find the mojo for a while. Ironically enough, coming down from Demon’s Souls to Mass Effect
had me feeling that similar insatiate or partial satisfaction. I wandered into The Last of Us Part II which has me once again blown away and enthralled. I was enjoying ME though, so I plan to return.

I'm 5 trophies away from Stranger Of Paradise platinum. These will require a bit of a grind but should be doable.
Luckily the "Beat the game on Chaos difficulty" trophy is either bugged or the requirement is mistranslated - it actually requires you to be any one mission on Chaos difficulty, so I got that already.

Edit: correction - 2 trophies left. One of them rather easily cheeseable
Edi2: one left

Platinumed I Am Dead - a bizarre hidden object style game with an interesting mechanic used to reveal stuff. It was maybe a bit too chilled at times but good fun in places.

Congrats to @render & @Voltan on your latest plats.

@Voltan what did you make of Stranger of Paradise? I was really excited for it in the build up to its release but the reviews tempered that a bit. Still really curious about it though.

@colonelkilgore I liked it a lot. It's better than it looks IMO. The combat, which is like 90% of the game is quite satisfying and the job system allows for quite a bit of freedom and variety.
The story part is a little unusual because it's literally about characters who don't know why they're doing what they're doing (until the last few missions anyway). I think the big picture makes it actually pretty good (and very Final Fantasy) but you won't be seeing anything but small glimpses of it until the end, which can be understandably off-putting for some players.

I'd recommend trying the demo while it's available (I think it's 2 more weeks). I'd also recommend playing it on hard difficulty unless you find it too frustrating.

@Voltan ah good man, I remember that you were looking forward to it, so I’m glad it lived up to your expectations. I’ll probably leave the demo as I just have too much to play as it is… I will get around to playing the full game at some point though. I really enjoyed playing my first Final Fantasy games back a couple of years back and am looking forward to dipping my toe back in that universe (I know this is pretty different from the core games I played but you know what I mean).

@Voltan congratulations on finishing it on hard. I had to tone it down from normal to the story mode. I'm not really a challenging type of game player but seeing this game had a difficulty slider made me try it. As you say the story comes together nicely in the end and that gameplay loop is so much fun. Maybe I'll try it again on a higher difficulty one day to see if I can get a hang of the higher difficulty but for now I was happy I could enjoy this type of game without feeling frustrated because if the difficulty

I have a question for the trophy hunters here. I'm new to playstation. My ps5 I have for about 2 months now so I have no real experience with trophies yet. I've always been a pc mmo player and this generation I decided to buy an Xbox and later a playstation. On my Xbox I generally finish the story and on open world games the side activities as well.
I just got my first 2 trophies with horizon forbidden west and Ghost of Tsushima.
Now my question is, do you guys platinum every game you play and how do you go about it? Do you look the trophies up and see how hard they are in advance or do you play the game and sweep what you are missing afterwards?

@Lavalera I don't think there's a "right" way to do it. I usually just play a game the way I enjoy it and only look at trophy lists towards the end. I'll only go for platinums that seem fun and achievable in a time I'm still willing to spend on a game. In the end the trophies don't really mean much - to me they're just an incentive to explore a game a little more.

In case of SOPFFO, there's one trophy that's either bugged or (more likely in my opinion) has a mistranslated description. It says "Complete the game on Chaos difficulty" but it in fact pops when you complete any mission on Chaos difficulty (which makes way more sense considering how the Chaos difficulty actually works) - once I realized this, I knew I could do it
