Ok so it failed again. This time I noticed the bar got to about 80% then every so often it'd reset to being about 40% complete, then rapidly fill up to 80% again. It did that a few times before finally failing.

I'll reset the PS4 like @nessisonett suggested.

LOL I started giving TLOU Part II discussions online a pass once the leaks came out and people started spamming transphobic and misogynistic memes everywhere.

@Matroska Just FYI, turning things off and back on seems to fix 90% of non-critical tech problems.

I tell you what, that Abby is a tank! I wouldn't mess with her. Loving this game so far and the way it is told.

@starhops @Rudy_Manchego Yep and it wasn't like the first game was Joel and Ellie making daisy chains for each other the whole game. Which some people's reaction to this game you think they were.

The encounters with the infected and Clickers are so tense! And really like the dialogue between Ellie and Dina, those slightly awkward moments when you are just starting out with someone. Just like the first game, excellent writing and VO work. Just had my first truly amazing moment when Abby is being chased by infected and meets up with Joel and Tommy.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

One big disappointing thing; back in the original game I saved Ellie from nurses in the hospital by blazing in with the flamethrower (I hadn't used it up until then, this was my last chance). Sad to see they weren't able to recreate that moment.

Finally, it's installed. Though oddly after starting up the game, I went to look at the model viewer and it said "story mode still downloading - 45 minutes" even though this is a disc copy. Hmm whatever.

Anyone know if the various options like aim assist and other various accessibility options affect trophies?

@Matroska Yeah, no idea why it still said it was downloading story mode, you can play the game anyway.

@Matroska No idea about the trophies, I've not looked just incase they have spoilers in them.

Man, that first scene with Joel and Ellie totally nailed their relationship and was honestly really moving for me. So much for "This game doesn't have those moments".

By the way, I ordered off Amazon UK and didn't get any in-game pre-order bonuses. However, I did get a digital artbook and OST which weren't mentioned on the Amazon page. Did they change the bonuses?

Do clickers respawn? I feel like I had cleared out an area, but when I came back later there were two more.

Ok so I just got to a point in the story (well at least one of them, no doubt there will be more later) which I think has something to do with why some people are so upset. I'm not going to say what it is, not even under spoiler tags but I get why some have had a reaction to it, but not to the extremes that some have gone to. I also understand why ND chose to do this and I accept and respect their decision. These kind of things happen all the time in film, tv and books. Some people are reacting like this is the first time this has ever happened. You may not like it, but bloody move on and let the people that are actually playing the game experience these moments, let them make their own mind up instead trying bring them down to your level.

I also don't really care of people commenting with cryptic stuff like 'Oh you may like it now but wait until you see what happens in the second half'. Well that maybe so, but I also may like what happens.

Anyways rant over. This game is frickin amazing.

@Octane It happened to me once, after I found a new weapon. Maybe it was scripted, but I wonder if it's related to difficulty level (I'm on Hard).

@andreoni79 I'm playing on normal. But I think we're talking about the same location, the bank, right?

Anyway, I can't fathom how you would play this on hard, I'm constantly out of ammo and resources as is. It's definitely a lot harder than the first game.

Yeah I agree it seems harder.

I recently got done with a hard playthrough of TLOU 1 (and Left Behind on Survivor) and didn't have as much trouble as I'm already having here.

I've actually turned the difficulty down as right now as I find it takes me out of the story if my character gets killed so often in combat.

In future I'll probably try and go back through it sticking to a harder difficulty and enjoy the combat more as I do love how tense yet frantic it can get.

So I've only had chance to play an hour or so but my early impressions are, well first of all the accessibility options really should be applauded and the standard to which others should be looking to achieve. Now the game, it looks amazing and recently I've grown tired of games pushing the story before you get to play, not here though and I could quite happily have sat through a lot more. The writing and voice acting really are on another level to most other games, with the motion capture being top notch. Dealing with the infected feels more tense than before and I've just got to the introduction of the clickers. One final thought for now is, I love how they have created the environments to subtly guide you through them without an obtrusive hud and can only imagine what the larger areas have in store.

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

Oh boy 344 comments in the review bombing article, there are some crazy people out there that's for sure.

Just played over 2 hours and I've been glued to the edge of my seat, I'd play all night if I could. Being a sensible adult with stuff to do in the morning sucks at times, can't wait to play it tomorrow evening.

I’m four hours in; wow. There are so many subtle touches in this game. I love the pacing as it gives you time to immerse yourself deeper with the characters. This is definitely a sweaty game 😂
